"Disconnected From Server" issue

I’ve posted this once before in the General discussion and NUMEROUS times in the Tech Support but I’ve been ignored in Tech Support.

So I’ve had this issue multiple times this week and this game is becoming unplayable.

Ever since the recent mid-season patch, I’ve been having problems where I randomly disconnect. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing in the game. It’s happened in queue, it’s happened in customs, its happened in quick play, comp, hero gallery, in menus, wherever. I’ve tried seeing how much time is in between disconnects, but its random.

The worst part is that I’ve gotten suspended from quick play, suspended from competitive, suspended from arcade, and I can’t even play a custom game anymore because I just disconnect randomly. My wifi connection is perfectly fine and it doesn’t happen on any other online game I play, just Overwatch. Not even any of Blizzards other games do this to me. Just Overwatch…

It only ever happens after every mid-season patch. Usually it lasts a few days (2-4 days) before returning to normal and the times between disconnects are long (about 20-25 minutes), but now it’s just unpredictable and it’s happening more and more frequently. Just yesterday, I opened overwatch on Xbox and 15 seconds later… I disconnect. It happens on every platform, PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, whatever. But this game is unplayable now. I can only play customs for 3-12 mins at a time because every time I try quick play, it disconnects and I get suspended.

Update: I’ve reset my WiFi, DNS, IP Address, Troubleshooting, everything. So I tried playing on Switch. At first, it was going perfectly and I didn’t disconnect… that is, until 40 minutes after I reset everything. I disconnected and I just thought it was my system getting used to it. But the disconnections happened more frequently. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore as I’ve already reset everything and checked to see if it’s because my systems are not up to date (they are up to date) or if Overwatch isn’t up to date (it is). If anyone know what’s wrong, please tell me!!

Second update: OKAY BLIZZARD YOU WIN! You obviously don’t want me in your game anymore. I worked SO HARD to get my endorsement level to 5. THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE LEVEL. But these damn disconnections have dropped it down to 2. LEVEL. 2. BLIZZARD. I don’t even know what to fo anymore.

lol i just need someone from blizzard to see this and tell me how i can fix it. do i need new wifi? new overwatch account? PLEASE BLIZZARD!!

Third update: Blizzard I swear if I get a response and it’s “Oh, it’s probably your WiFi” NO. IT’S. NOT. This is just an Overwatch problem. It is your job to fix it.

I spent thousands of hours on your game. Hundreds of hours ranking up. Hundreds of dollars on your game. For what? To be unable to play your game for more than 5 minutes? To lose my rank and drop down? To waste money on credits I won’t even be able to use? For all the endorsements I’ve received over the years to achieve such a high endorsement level to be dropped so low? You want people to play you games and be able to have fun to the point where they want to stay and have more fun? You want them to have so much fun that they actually decide to spent money on it? Fix. Your. Game.

If it’s really a WiFi problem then WHY did everyones WiFi become so garbage in Season 11? If it’s really an Internet problem WHY does every other online game work just fine? WHY can I play Fortnite, Valorant, Dead By Daylight, and other online games JUST FINE but not YOUR game? WHY am I being punished for putting my time and money and my literal soul into your game?

I’d like to add I have the EXACT same issue. I have done the EXACT SAME FIXES.
I’ve logged two tickets where they say I should update my drivers.

I EVEN UNINSTALLED BATTLE.NET. I’m running the game through steam. Still dropping connection from the server.

I have played this game since 2018. It’s beyond annoying how they are dealing with this.

OMG same! I already left one ticket and the “support” seems to be automatic? I only get the same ‘technical issues forum’ and nothing else! They haven’t even acknowledged that there seems to be a problem! It’s not my WIFI its not my computer! It’s all blizzard servers and they aren’t acknowledging the problem at all! Do not stop fighting! It might sound cringy but we have to stick together because that might be the only way we are heard!

My issue is bad. I haven’t been able to get into my account since February 13th. Same with Support looping me back around to “do-it-yourself” fixes AND to top it off support is not even ran by devs, its run by “Game-Masters”. Like Are you kidding me?

Same here, i was playing comp (Playstation) and i lost connection to the server, and yeah it suspends me when i tried to rejoin. This issue needs to be solved ASAP, I literally cannot play a single match these days. (Other games work just fine, it is NOT our internet problem)

Same here I haven’t been able to play for a while and it’s really sad because I work all day and afterwards I wanna play but it doesn’t let me .

exact same issue here! ive been having this issue for a long time and its so annoying that it only happens when i play Overwatch and they still have the audacity to tell me my wifi is bad. I dont understand why their Support doesnt help at an issue cuz i tried fr everything and it’s getting worse and worse…

im having the same problem , its the server who wont support everyone and they insists on letting it pass by them , you get disconnected , ppl get angry and report you and you get banished not cause of what you did in game but because of their on lack of
effectiveness and eficiency on sustaining servers on line

Had problems yesterday and it continues today it seems. Already had one server issue.

I’m also having a different issue where the game is constantly crashing: Game constantly crashes since the new season (11) dropped - #13 by Lilith-12907

To me this goes to show how little Blizzard cares about us considering they’ve been ignoring these issues the whole season!!! Meanwhile they’re busy fixing bugs with Mercy’s scoreboard statistics??? Like what???

hopefully it fixes in season twelve!

They won’t fix it in season 12. And if they do it’ll be by accident. It’s been 3 to 4 months of these issues with a lot of people and blizzard still hasn’t acknowledged it. At one point one of the above pinned discussions had over 200 posts on it but they get archived/removed after 30 days or something like that.
