This isn’t a religion to be believed. People have been leaving this game in droves since they released the role lock. It received a huge boost with the release onto the switch, but being in, what most consider, the worst state the game has been in since inception, the fall off there will probably be worse.

Occasionally picking Tank (and Damage/Support)?
Flex doesn’t mean “play Tank/Support every round cos no one else will” anymore.
“Make the Tanks more engaging” is the most common bandied around, but they’ve had a few years to do this already and we’ve seen how that plays out.
One I see more often is increase the SR for Tank (and to a lesser extent Support). I don’t think that’s gonna work very well either as you’re just gonna have a host of Tanks that are gonna be basically spectators in a game of Damage vs Damage =\
nonsense, tanks have been strongest class for a while now, proof when there was no Role Lock people didn’t pick DPS at all because Tanks and Supps could do everything DPS can but better.
In truth people don’t like tanking because it requires the most gamesense and most people in Diamond- have no idea how to play tank, they mismanage all their cooldowns, misposition and afterwards complain that they died.
It isnt though. It is like adding training wheels for everyone just because some need it and some dont mind it.
DPS queues are a problem, amongst many others and the issue is BIG. Specially when people that is playing the 3 roles don’t have any advantage or system that prevents those brutal queues for them.
Yeah, what more proof do we need besides the fact that almost every single meta in the game’s entire history has been about DPS: Widow, Doom, Pharah, Hanzo, Beyblade, Tracer, Mccree, Junk, Nano-blade/visor.
Hog spam, and goats. Those are the only times DPS did not run the game.
Actually, DPS players are punishing themselves… that’s how it works.
That is a fair point and something that could be improved.
Funny think to say when they’ve added as many new tanks as they did DPS, then reworked a support into a DPS, even though the damage category outnumbers tanks and supports each 2:1.
You are not hated. You are showered in blessings. You have more heroes, you can counter anything, you are much less depending on your team to do your job, you don’t suffer through CC like a tank, you don’t need an “off DPS” that pairs with you to be pro-efficient and you have the most diverging varying aesthetics to pick from, ranging from sneaky hacker to cyborg ninja to snipers and a even a goshdarn Killer Instinct puncher.
In exchange for that, you need to be patient and trust that things will improve.
There’s no magic bullet for this, queue times will not improve unless there’s tanks to fill matches, so you see, the frustrated tank players are in the same boat as you now: You want better tanking, so there’s better queues.
Luckily for you, tank players have been talking about the bullcrap state of tanks for the longest time, the previous common response was “you picked tanks so it’s job to suffer”, I trust the answer will change now, otherwise the boat sinks.

Furthermore, if one wants to better understand the issues plaguing tanks and why even tank mains are so frustrated with the role, I think I covered a bunch of reasons in the following (maybe not all, maybe not perfectly, but it’s just me afterall):
Go pick up a tank player and start duo queuing. The reason dps queue time is so high is because the demand of players wanting to play dps is disproportionally higher than tanks. But for every game where you have 4 dps total on both teams, you need 4 tank players as well.
Playing anything other than Orisa and Sigma requires you to actually think about what you’re doing. So no, they are not the only tanks, but if you don’t pick them, you’re at a severe disadvantage from the other team, which probably will pick them. if the other team doesn’t pick them, go ham and play what you want.

competitive is not worth anyone’s time unless this is their job
it has no value other then the arcade variations.
a comp match takes about 15-25 min +10-15 min waiting=you could read half a book in that time.
Imgaine complaing when you have the exact same wait time as i have in plat as a support, my games are 8-15mins per match, i had a similar experience getting a 9min queue to have some1 leave, 15mins and another one leaves, 13mins and had the tank throwing in a row.
I think it’s good to make DPS invest some time into queuing.
Smurfs and alt accounts dont throw willy nilly because they want to actually play the game at some point.
Ya and comp before punished supports and tanks by giving them 4 dps.
