Bye they buffed soldier

ig the seasonally mega-buff came, and this time it went to soldier

The problem is the damage boost, not this. Iā€™d have to say they went too hard in buffing. Just not his meta, they made it that way, everything is high sustain/survivable. They should be nerfing those characters.

S76 pockets will be even more unbearable now. But screw nerfing dmg boost.

I agree! I have over 500 hours on Mercy, cringe I know. But Damage boost has to go.

^until high sustainability get nerf, heroes like soldier will get the buff, or have to dive together like dive heroes, or play heavy burst heroes like snipers.

doesnt necessarily have to go, but i would be glad to see it be nerfed in return for better movement.

Ohhh, so you need him to be top spot at every level. gotcha

Soldier is far too obnoxious a hero to be gigs buffed for no reason.

If they wanted to nerf Pbarah just nerf pharah. This was unnecessary.

Yes

I mean, I once made a thread asking people on here: ā€œwho do you want to be metaā€, Soldier was there.

There is a difference between wanting a character to be meta and overpowering in every rank just so high rank can have him as top1 as well

Iā€™m not seeing the giga buff

25 dps isnā€™t much better than 20 dps

The breakpoints are the exact same as b4 when dmg boosted. Only new one is rocket melee will kill a 200hp hero, However rare that will be done while boosted.

tfw boosted splash damage on helix rocket does the same damage a direct hit from pharah does

So what do you propose they should do to make hero that already dominated in low elo to be viable in top500?

Pretty sure they just spin a wheel and see where the dart lands at this point.

This team is asleep at the wheel and just phoning it in.

He was already viable??? 5th picked DPS out of 16 is not exactly badā€¦

They canā€™t. Widow is all aim and horrible design, and has been a problem at least since OW2 released. Sheā€™s only good in GM because those are the players who can consistently hit with her.

Tracer is good design, but at the same time nothing can be like her. Tracer is hard because every mistake she makes is pretty much always punished with a one shot. How are we gonna make Soldier that punishing to use while at the same time buffing him to Tracer levels? Itā€™s not happening.

Now itā€™ll break in 3 seconds instead of 2! Rein fixed! -_-

Iā€™m not a Rein main, but suspect you might benefit from treating Reinā€™s barrier like DVAā€™s defense matrix-- Use shield in bursts to cover someone in trouble, holding it when someone is about to die, holding it in grav, etc.

If you are pushing into enemies, you can typically jump forward and repeatedly tap it as you fall to split the damage on yourself and your shield. Your body gets healed up pretty quick from half damage, while a lot your barrierā€™s durability is preserved. (Obviously there are situational exceptions to this like staring at a one-shotting Widow.)

I remember playing Rein as a mobile shield in OW1 and had to reacclimate to a new Rein playstyle. Iā€™m not sure how much was caused by balances. For example, I had to adapt from Mei being one of my mains using CC on left click and with damage on right click to playing her more like a TF2 pyro with damage on left click. Iā€™ve actually stopped playing her all together at this point.

ā€¦But yeah, if you are just holding your shield up to protect your team while they shoot and try to take 100% of the damage for them and not let healers contribute to your teamā€™s sustain, then a barrier will melt quite quickly.

he has around 1.2% pickrate in OWL and OWWC.
Heā€™s also commonly pick when the match is already lost, and players are frustrated over their team.

Okay? A lot of other heroes have an abysmal pickrate there as well.

then buff those heroes too, I didnā€™t say otherwise.
