You went full Activision, you NEVER go full Activision

Alt accounts are a massive problem in OW. Blizzard is avoiding the issue because it’s very profitable. I think they make more money from alt accounts than loot boxes and OWL skin sales. They need to rework their revenue model…

I think that Blizzard needs to stop putting money over their customers.

The thing is, this $30 lucio emote wouldn’t be such a big deal if we knew they didn’t have much other sources of revenue. But considering they have lootboxes, alt accounts, and the OWL, these little gimmicks don’t fly.

Give it to OWL subscribers for free, make it the standard 3,000 credits for an event skin for the rest of us.

Yeah, they are 100% being greedy. That’s just one of the many ways they could’ve thanked supporters without screwing over the rest of the fan base.

People have been asking for this emote since day one. This is an absolutely greedy move that they’re pulling.

It started all the way back when Destiny 2 came out, that was the sign of the dark times ahead of us, and from now on it will only get worse, since Activision just happens to be one of the greediest Triple A makers out there and they are every so slowly completely merging with Blizzard, they were already the same corporation in the market and now this is happening, it’s sad to see

It says “please read!”

I know right? A bunch of businesses do this, and it’s really neat. Last week, I went to the store and gave them $300 to support their business venture, and they gave me a FREE switch totally as an EXTRA THANK YOU. I think what made it FREE, was that I was never touching it and the money at the same exact time. If you look around, you can find tons of places that give out FREE GIFTS in exchange for money. NEAT-O

You sound like a absolute suck up with that comment.

Blizzard has been doing this since 2014
and since 2016 in overwatch (Virtual Blizzcon passes to watch the stream with a special chat and get a special view and replay)
In exchange you get a skin for each blizzard game. ($40)

Why are people acting like this is new ?

Lucio is an OW hero. OWL is Overwatch. They play OW in OWL. ???

Okay why does this have over one hundred replies and NOBODY mentioning Tropic Thunder?!?

Their full company name is “Activision Blizzard.” I don’t know what you expected.

Full activision is selling playable characters behind a paywall and already priced game.

Did mum take away your dummy?

It’s at the very beginning. An optional cosmetic item does not classify as a “pay-wall”.

It’s an emote, one emote. It’s a little perk for a big package of stuff

If you have OCD to this degree, I am being sincere here, you may want to contact a primary care physician and ask for a referral to a specialist because this isn’t normal.

“OPTIONAL CONTENT”

The game is not unplayable without this emote.

You can just play a f2p game if you want optional content.
The only content this game gets in a form of maps, heroes and cosmetics. Make the cosmetics payed and it goes down to maps and heroes only. That is pretty much what every f2p game offers.

If they offered it at all to normal players, how would that exactly be a reward? The reward is the exclusivity, not the item itself.

So why exactly does an emote mean so much to people?

to the point where they’re enraged that they have to pay for it other than just not paying for it then not caring about it?

This was offered AFTER most people bought it. The people that originally bought it and actually want to support the venture bought it for the twitch benefits. The only reason it’s been advertised before the end of the buying window is as a “last chance” sorta deal.
