that isn’t even his argument, in high level gameplay, which is what he’s talking about both teams are quite capable of ult management, or “using as few ults as possible to win a fight” mercy does nothing to challenge that, yes she punished excessive use of ults, but that only really happens in lower level games, otherwise she’d just force even more ult investment or ult-wipe, mass res, ult-wipe which would potentially fix the staggering of ults, however it would still be a support ult that is ridiculously powerful just to keep up with offensive ults, that aside, higher level mercy players mostly prefer valk to mass res anyway
I’m going to say basically the same thing a lot of people have said. That was a really well put together video. He has a ton of valid points. And I do think that Blizzard should respond. Because like him, I do love this game. But it can be super frustrating at times.
I understand you really want to defend Seagull. But I’m afraid that is actually his argument.
He explains multiple times that the issue is Offensive Ults becoming too strong, bad ult economy, and “Whoever has more Q’s win.”
Let’s look at what Mass Res did.
Checked Ult economy.
Reversed Losses due to Unbeatable Offensive ult combos
Required you not to “spam your Qs to win”
It is the perfect example of being the solution to the problems he’s mentioned.
Also I’m not sure if I can follow the rest of what you were saying there, since it seems to stem from your own opinion. May I ask, are you able to give me statistics that prove that this “only happened in lower level games?” Can you prove with documented data of all the high skilled players in the 40 million playerbase, with the majority of that sample size that says “higher level mercy players mostly prefer Valk to Mass res?” If you have that information based on factual evidence, I’d love to see it. Otherwise, all of what you’ve mentioned about “what high skilled players prefer” and “____ only happened in ____ rank” literally cannot be proven.

Omg this has nothing to do with Mercy. She’s not getting a revert. Get over it. The game has not taken this turn for Segaul just because mass rez was removed.
And you’re ignoring his main point which is hard counters, much like mass rez. A hard counter you couldn’t do anything about. Hes completely against the idea of it if you actually listen to what he says.
Should have known Mercy players would latch onto that and twist it their own way.
They like to blame a section of the community, have it fight amongst itself. Total deflection from the people who made the actual decisions and put the stuff in game.
only really happens. please actually read my responses thanks, and as an example Custa, EeveeA, and other high ranking mercy/support mains prefer valk, you can find multiple clips online. If you think that valk to res was a bad nerf then you’re just too attached to the idea of “nothing the enemy team does matters as long as I don’t die”
Your spin on what he said to make your own point is crazy to me.
He’s making a simple point that ultimates should have less impact on the game so they don’t decide who wins as much, and you are trying to spin it so that you just add (or bring back) another overpowered Q to counter the other overpowered Q’s?
That’s the exact opposite direction of what he was trying to say.
