Bastion should legit be deleted from the game

Agreed, never played bast, never will unless he is reworked.

Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again.

My kids play him, I give them so much crap for it
But in the end, we can only try, if you fail against a bast set up with babysitting, then there really is nothing you can do.

So I guess it’s not really about balance and just about our own personal gut feelings on the matter. Well then, you fit right in with these forums, keep at it mate.

I voiced an opinion, never said bast needs a nerf. Just think a rework to make him less 1 dimensional would be good. I would prefer the game to have reasonable skill floors and high skill ceilings.

And i think a rework to make Bastion not a hero only for masochists would probably be an okay change…

Every single element of the hero is literally a willing setback for the player, that they step into knowing they’ll be less than useless.

Especially when you consider the other heroes they could be playing.

I would agree on that.

Well i’m glad you agree with the truth.

I’m am so sick of reworks. They haven’t been a good thing for the game, and thank God Jeff said on a stream interview that he feels DONE with reworks.

Reworks aren’t healthy for the game. Valk 1.0 was a nightmare that needed major nerfing to get balanced, and many Mercy players never even wanted it. Sym players are still complaining about their reworks.

And now, those Bozos over @ Overwatch Central are calling for Winston and Reinhardt to be “reworked” because people, like yourself, call them one dimensional.

Well MAYBE, just MAYBE I like one dimensional, and so do a lot of other people.

If they want to make new heroes, make more counters, then fine so be it, but don’t take away peoples heroes by reworking them to the point where they feel like they are GONE FOREVER.

That’s terrible, and it needs to end.

Interesting take. I can see how a rework would destroy the play experience. I think Rein and Winston is fine, but maybe bastion does have his own little niche of people who enjoy him and not just trying the optimal way to win.

Yes.

Literally any hero that doesn’t require continual tracking aim.

Continual tracking aim is the hardest type of aim. It’s why in classic shooters like Quake, the railgun had far lower DPS than the lightning gun yet the rail-gun is still considered the superior weapon. TF2 has the same thing, minigun is considered weak because it requires continual tracking despite higher raw DPS.

The spread on Bastion’s gun may make it easier to do ANY damage on a moving target but it makes it far harder to achieve maximum damage as you can’t just keep the middle of your crosshair anywhere over their hitbox, you need to keep the middle of your crosshair in the exact centre of their hitbox or else damage drops off quickly from high miss-rate.

Check for yourself.

Enter a Custom Game on an escort map add bots before the game starts, bots will freeze when they reach the payload so you can remove any excuses of your aim isn’t good enough, perfectly centre the crosshair and note the accuracy… or lacktherof. From only 20m away I cannot kill a frozen sombra bot in less than 38 shots. Only 35% hit rate INHERENT from the huge spread.

If you’re dying to Bastion you’re standing incredibly close to him and not attempting to use cover or move unpredictably at all.

I think if bastion is not being played around hes so difficult to play.

you literally need to consider everything. target priority. when to move. when to heal. what abilities to bait out. i mean its like that for alot of heroes but with bastion is so extreme. If he’s stuck in a poor team comp i have no issues killing him.

He is designed to mow down enemies near instantly. Bastion is a literal sentry turret. STOP COMPLAINING. Enough characters have been ruined by forum crybabies.

Bastion is only as powerful as the team behind him. Legitimately.

-flashes back to first match ever going 28/1 mowing down the attacking team on Hollywood-

Flashback unrelated.

No, your not wrong. He is cheesy, cause he’s a turret for a character. That’s bound to be at least a little bit of cheese.

Unfortunately your not backed up by stats. He’s the least picked hero in the game and in all honestly needs some major adjustments.

I think you have Bastion confused with Brigitte… Bastion you have to position and aim with…

He just needs a rework, pure and simple. His recon mode is good, but not good enough to entice players to stay in him more. I think his turret mode needs to be on a significant cool-down tbh… making switching on and off a question. In short, his Sentry mode needs toning down, his Recon mode needs tuning up.

Couldn’t hurt to play Bastion for a bit and figure out the things that pose a challenge to him.

When Bastion is alone he is the easiest target in the game. Use D.Va and you can take him out in 2 seconds. Bastion however, is usually played alongside heroes that can enable/protect him (bunker comp). Sombra can effectively counter bunker all by herself with EMP, kill the Bastion then retreat.

I used to hate him too but killing him isn’t that hard if you and your team work together. Give call-out and strategy, it always works. Though breaking bunker comp is insanely hard without ultimate that disable or force them to reposition since bunker is so slow. I used to get into a battle without those type of ult once, it tooks Valkyrie and Nano-Blade to destroy them.

And asking a hero to be deleted isn’t the answer nor it will work. It’s just makes you look like a bad player who didn’t know how to counter them (no offense).

I actually did this and agree - I got sick of for about a week after him showing up in OWL he was in every damn game, repeatedly. I spent time with him to learn his cadences, but he’s still a tough cookie when he’s setup with a shield nothing changes that, but I am amazed at how easily he is taken out by Ashe or Hanzo and yet I see teams with those characters and he’s not countered… I don’t get it …
