This is a quote from my Bastion megathread and it includes a demonstration and a short video on why the first tankmode’s shot is delayed sometimes:

At first I thought my mouse had a faulty left click button when holding it down. After switching mice and had the same thing still happen, was convinced it was the game. Posts were made in the bug section a year ago, but were never addressed.
I didn’t know what exactly triggered the bug because it felt random, now I do. Guess you just have to be careful starting from the second ult thereon until Blizzard addresses this, if ever.
Getting that first shot off is HUGE, it’s literally the thin line between winning or losing a team fight since everybody focuses you when you transform. When Bastion has ult, would be nice to play more aggressive instead of hanging out in the back, but this bug makes it impossible against a competent team.
I thought I was just clicking too early on the rare occasion that I do play Bastion, but it’s an actual documented bug. This definitely needs to be fixed, since it can potentially cost you kills which you would otherwise definitely secure.
Sadly unless someone such as Kolorblind were to post about it, I don’t think it’s ever going to be addressed. (and they still haven’t even fulfilled his requests about colorblind modes)

Yeah I feel like Kolorblind may be out only biggest voice out there to get the bastion ult bug with enough views.
Kolorblind posted it on the bug report on the old forums but as usual Blizzard ignores everything that relates Bastion on the forums.
I hope they’re doing things behind the scenes because they really don’t tell anybody anything until a change has been decided upon but you’d think such a big and well documented bug as the tank bug would have been fixed really quick.
