Bastion did not get nerfed into the ground

We went from being a troll pick, to being a must pick for a month (I play console so It was a month with it), to him being the least picked hero currently. All they did was reduce his damage reduction by like 15% so… if that really makes him go from being a must pick to being garbage tier then he will never be balanced

I still see bastion all the time on console. He can often be difficult to deal with with a well coordinated team.

Bastion running around by himself acting like he’s soldier is useless. Bastion behind an Orisa and or Reinhardt with a Mercy / Ana behind him and a soldier and zenyatta bringing up the rear to protect the sweet metallic behind is another story.

Bastion is bad because he requires team work.
Not everyone wants to play around bastion.

Also junkrat is always a great pick, and he counters bastion Soo hard, you will need a mercy to rez bastion after junk goes kamikaze on him.
Or zarya to bubble the bastion.

And don’t forget the orisa or rien. And the pucket healing. Meaning the team will need 2 main healer or heck, even 3 healers might be needed if you decided to run a Lucio or brig.

Tell me how are you gonna find this type of support in a game where at least 3 people instalock dps.

He is garbage, because they nerfed his damage as compensation for Ironclad, but then nerfed Ironclad without readjusting his damage.

I really enjoy Bastion but he is difficult because he punishes the enemy really hard. He’s essentially an off tank because he wakes people up and they all focus him lest they eat a face of bullets.
I don’t think he’s trash, I don’t think he’s OP and I don’t think he’s UP either. He’s simply difficult and balanced fairly.
An unsupported Bastion just needs to be a slightly more mobile Bastion. Try him in QP, nothing makes you appreciate the space tanks create than playing Bastion in QP. Watch the enemy team slowly adapt to deal with you while your 3 other dps do nothing lol.

Actually hang on, what’s the point of this thread again?

He doesn’t have any form or way to defend himself while in turret form (Ironclad is super useless.) And his damage isn’t able to melt down anything attacking him while taking damage from three other heroes.

You aren’t getting what fully happened here. They reduced his sentry damage by a minimum of 50% (no headshots) and for every single bullet missed even more because of the reduced spread. They then gave him a passive that made him very hard to kill which they promptly overnerfed (a week for PC. I don’t play console but I can imagine how much it sucks for changes to take that long).

Now he has an overnerfed passive and a massively overnerfed damage. They need to revert spread and headshots and possibly the rest of sentry too. If I had to choose I’d say revert spread and headshots as well as the swap speed.

Yeah and Bastion only makes up 1/6th of that story. That’s not him being good it’s the 5 other teamates doing basically everything but shooting for him.

I’ll direct you here: Bastion's pickrate has been steadily declining in GM
It is a roadmap of GM players doing worse and worse in his niche and using him less and less in the past 6 months and there is no sign of stopping.

Here are this weeks stats

6 months ago it used to be this

Bastion needs a rework. Right now its planned to rework:

1: Symmetra
2: Unknown Hero
3: Torbjörn

I think Bastion is either Number 2 or Number 4. He needs a big rework. Maybe they dont want to rework him until they see how Sym turns out.

Well imo I think Bastion is really strong against the current meta. People just gotta be smart.

I think the unkown hero is after Torb because we know that they’ve started on Torb already.

The current meta is killing him

Ever since the new meta arose he has been getting worse and worse. If he really were really good against this comp his pickrate and winrate should have gone up not down.

Not every hero will be viable in every meta.

It’s a symbiotic relationship. The bastion does almost all the damage and attracts all the enemy attention.

It is a team game, judging a character on their solo play is inaccurate

bastion needs faster tank transformation and more health in tank form. Along with a 5-8% reduction in sentry spread. also, more ammo for recon.

lol a hero shouldn’t be OP to be viable and we learned this when he was a must pick a year ago

Bastion hasn’t been viable in any meta so far so I think you’re just using that as an excuse. This meta is supposed to favor him. Let’s list the things he’s supposed to be good against

  • getting rid of lots of HP
  • overpowering healing
  • killing barriers

Now let’s list all of the things this meta has

  • lots of HP (Brigitte max health increase, stuff like that)
  • a lot of healing (triple support)
  • lots of barriers (usually the supports stack effects on tanks like Orisa or Reinhardt.)

Now let’s list everything that’s coutering him and why it is

  • unable to deal with lots of HP because his damage and spread were gutted
  • unable to deal with lots of healing for the same reason
  • unable to deal with barriers because he has to sit still for too long to do it. It’s more effective to throw some buffs on a Rein and send him in without his barrier up because he can take it with increased max health and healing to make up for it. Also Brigitte’s shield is so small and his spread is so big half the time he can’t hit it.

Why do you think we want him OP? I want no hero worthy of the name F tier. Sure there will always be that tier but it shouldn’t be by such a huge margin.

judging a hero by 5 other teamates pocketing them is also inaccurate.
