Gameplay is much better than 6v6. I donāt like anything else, especially going F2P, no lootboxes and heroes behind battlepass. I unlocked almost every single skin in the game for free playing ow1. I canāt do that in ow2 because they donāt give enough currency to buy battlepass even if you would grind this game every day for 8 hours. There is just no gold coins sources so you have to spend money, a lot of it to get skins. Iām fine with that I guess, those are cosmetics. But locking heroes behind battlepass is just cringe.
The one tank is basically a giant dps with tons impact yes, but itās nowhere near as bad as 6v6 was. Where the dps role was complete irrelevant.
Nowadays the flex support can hardcarry a game. One good dps player can 1v5 the lobby.
And ofc the tank can do it as well.
Back in the day if you had a feeding hog or ball player it was GG right out of the gate.
In 5v5 you absolutely can carry dead weight around no problem.
So what would be wrong with (re)introducing a 6v6 game mode separate from 5v5? Both camps would be happy if we had this.
i think that it favors players like me who know how to build team comps better than most in their skill tier, because two things
- it is way easier to draft a decent looking comp around 1 tank than 2
- i dont have to trust one tank player to draft around the other
in ow1 when two tanks werent on the same page pretty much nothing got done, if the other 2 tanks were in comms rein zarya they would tear u to shreds.
iāll say it is a lot more punishing to learn tank now because of the burden of being the only one of course, but at the same time you dont have those tank games where the other tanks synergize and you and the other guy are clueless. so its give and take.
there are a few changes that suck like 1 pick being the end of the world, less peel, 1 less person soaking damage for you, but eh you take the good w/ the bad.
ive forgotten ow1 and im for the most part happy w/ ow2 aside from the matchmaking. not to mention tanks were hard quitting overwatch 1. queues were getting abysmal. something had to be done to spice up the role. they made a bold move and we lost some things but it was ultimately easy enough to adjust to
? If your tank in 5v5 is bad its over no chance unless the enemy tank is also bad in 6v6 if you have one bad player the other 5 can balance it out no problem.
I really would like to see the supp that can carry a game i had matches where i as Kiriko had most kills dmg and heal and we completely lost.
Make Overwatch 12v12 no class limits.
I like 5v5 personally.
I feel like I have more impact as a support player. Plus itās nice to only have one tank to babysit.
I dont like it as supp especially when the tank is ball, jq, winton or doom because it basically leaves you without any defence. Also as supp it feels a times like a walking simulator as you are the nr1 target and with one less tank you have far less cover.
Itās factually worse. The only reason anyone actually enjoys it is because they were extremely sick of double shield. There were many ways they could have handled double shield and this was the worst option.
Letās also not forget that the real reason they made the move to 5v5 (and went f2p at the same time) was to attract players from other hero shooters.
Blizzard couldnāt care less about the actual balance of this game. If they did, they would have handled double shield without going 5v5.
Itās easier than ever before, you can steamroll the lobby with zen, ana and bap and to lower extent in the metal ranks with moira.
I made for fun a moira only account where I went 30-6 in season 3 ended up M3.
Same goes for bap and zen, where you can out dps any dps player in the lobby.
Kinda but when your team is really bad and the enemy team is ok you have no chance you cant 1.5 vs 5 unless you are severe misplaced in ranking

They wouldnāt because everyone would flock to 6v6 and Blizzard would have to swallow their pride and admit they messed up.
Huh? I keep going to all these revert 5v5 ā 6v6 threads and finding scores of 5v5 defenders. Looks like there would be plenty from both camps to fill each mode. I say let them be two separate modes so everyone can be happy.
The problem is the modes need complete different balancing. They cant just make a 6v6 mode and put it in the arcade they would have to make it a complete 3rd mode 5v5, pve and 6v6.
While its possible it would take a lot of work as you basically have to balance 2 and with pve 3 modes at the same time. While i would like it i dont think they will do it especially because it will split the player base in at least half.
So what? No Limits, Mystery Heroes, and Mayhem modes exist. Blizzard doesnāt balance with those modes in mind at all either, yet each of these modes has their own dedicated communities playing them.

Oh no I 100% agree with you, Iām just saying Blizzard would never do that because everyone would actually play 6v6 which would just prove even further how crummy 5v5 is.
Part of the whole forcing 5v5 on us was that Blizzard is consciously trying to bury 6v6.
Iām pretty sure Blizzard is just trying to squeeze as much money out of Overwatch as possible right now. Alienating as few of people as possible would be the best option to keep players dissatisfied with 5v5 playing and not jumping boat. Might help attracting new players as well, seeing an active community that advocates for the game all by itself again too.
It overstayed its welcome since they announced this garbage change. Time to go back to 6v6 and accept reality.
I agree with this too. Probably what they will do is milk money on 5v5 as much as they can until they realize itās lost, then they will re-introduce 6v6 as a Brand New Game Mode!
