I love how it’s not even a certainty that said content is even coming out in the pace mentioned.
Like OW has several heroes in the development at any given time. With ana/sombra/orisa/ moria being in the mostly finished state since OW released.
it’s not exactly new for these style of games to have a bulk of heroes ready to pop out over a years time span.
OW isn’t the only game with original heroes. It is really not an excuse especially when OW uses collabs with existing IPs for skins anyway.

Im not trying to defend Blizzard but OW had 3 new heroes released in Season 1 with 3 new maps aswell.
Yeah, I remember we didnt had a single “major” update since Echo or Sigma release (like 2 years w/o any content, just small balance patches here and there) but even so in my opinion is way more easier to MR devs to release a ton of characters out of a blue because they have over what 1000+ characters in Marvel universe while Blizzard must create characters from scratch?
As far as I remember Jeff mentioned they took 8-10 years to create OW, in 8-10 years they made like 30+ characters so yeah its no excuse they only created like 6 heroes and 5 maps in 4 years.
I dont know exactly what happened inside Blizzard, but after Jeff departure and that MCree/Cassidy drama OW is not the same. (to me)
I feel they lost their touch, the passion and the will to move on.
I honestly hope MR make them wake up.
My guess is that Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch and Ultron will come since their kit, introduction, tips, kill interactions and ability animations are already leaked ingame.
I don’t think this says much. Marvel Rivals still has plenty of content to release that started development before release. I think it’s a disingenuous comparison - let’s see how their release schedule looks like a year from now.

When is season 1? Cause if there is a part of MR that I actually find interesting, it’s what the patch cycle is going to look like
Also, I’ve been tossing around idea of how many heroes they could add in a game like MR. Cause the leg work is kinda already there…they have 100’s of heroes with identities already hashed out and such at their disposal. And they almost surely had a bunch “almost ready to go” heroes already when they game launched, so the idea of something like “fantastic four” releasing in season 1 wouldn’t be shocking

A skin is not the same as a ground up hero design with lore, story, character the lot.
MR already has 85 years of lore, design and characters to work with.
MR also has an “advantage” of being on UE5, meaning a lot of ground work can be done with AI. OW has to custom build everything.
That’s cool. Maybe if they make it so that I don’t get a UE5 crash every few matches, I might be able to enjoy those 4 new heroes to the fullest.

Wow the full fantastic 4 team? But if they are debuting right now how do we kbow them. Probably from the decades of lore that explain all their powers, show off various outfits and explain their relations with the rest of the cast.

To be fair, marvel has tons of already developed characters that they can just copy the design and abilities to a playable character, while OW characters are all (mostly) original and need to be made from scratch. I think the latter is more.time consuming. Also they have to spend most of their resources on new Kiriko skins.

I am sorry, but its easier to create a new character like Illari, because you can do anything you want with her kit, while existing heroes need to have their abilities build into the kit. This is a poor excuse. OW lore does not exist anymore and while Marvel has like 50 heroes theoretically ready, there are a lot of different versions of them with different abilities they need to work with. They are much more limited.
Also, OW models are more simplistic and they have less abilities.

So polished, that the sooner Overwatch get rid of this player base, the healthier it will be for all. Both Overwatch and Marvel Rivals aswell
Not next week, but the week after is the new season. I think this season was half the length with 34 days or so, to I think they will have around the same length as OW seasons.
