4 new heroes in Marvel Rivals for Season 1

The full Fantastic Four team is debuting in Season 1.

4 new heroes.

Let that sink in.

Meanwhile OW2 is struggling to get 1 hero out once in a blue moon, and not precisely because they are polished and balanced properly (looking at you Mauga)

For the “quality over quantity” crowd, we could have both, and we are getting none (again, looking at you Mauga)

And for the “i hope we dont get any new heroes and rather focus and the ones we have” crowd: again, WE COULD HAVE BOTH + NEW HEROES ARE THE ONLY ACTUAL CONTENT WE GET IN THIS GAME

Amazing! I hope they continue to create fun kits as we currently have.
I already gave it a try to all heroes, each hero is very fun to play with, maybe Spider-Man has has a little weird swing, but after we get used to it is also very fun.
I wonder how Susan Storm kit will look like

Its only a leak and we have another leak that say other heroes like Ultron are being introduced in S1. Dont think we get 5 heroes, but they spoke about multiple heroes per season.

But its really laughable that OW manages to release 3 per year and Rivals maybe 4 per season lol

Honestly, I’d be more interested in Rivals dropping a ton of new maps in their next season over more heroes. Because the game’s new the roster doesn’t feel stagnant yet, so it’s not as important getting new characters out there. Meanwhile, the relatively smaller map pool is something that’s pretty apparent about Rivals.

I have to say, that I dont mind it at all. Maybe we get more maps also, but that would be crazy. On the other hand, OW releases are crazy slow in OW1 and its the same pace in OW2…

Just thinking about Rivals releases more stuff in a year than OW2 in two or three, would be crazy.

I don’t think so, pretty sure season one will include blade and the new york map

Low key pissed they are making mr. Fantastic a duelist. Like we really don’t need anymore duelist. But new tanks and supports are very needed.

How can you have both? Did you ever think there is a reason blizzard does even a test weekend first with a character before adding it? And MR is just throwing 4 into the game without even testing or thinking? rofl. You gotta love netease.

For now it’s okay, imo. I think they were sensible in re-using the same assets to get more maps out there. For example, having an Asgard escort map as well as an Asgard KotH map, unlike OW which traditionally has King’s Row escort and that’s that; there’s no King’s Row KotH or Paris escort maps.

If they don’t keep injecting new maps into the game - and I’ve no idea what their plans are, I haven’t really looked around for official news - then I think it’ll be more and more of a problem.

While I hate certain OW maps, the larger map pool as a whole is definitely an advantage it has over Rivals in my book. Remember when OW had restricted map pools? That was so bad. I still don’t understand how they thought that was a good idea.

Why do people hate Mauga? I absolutely love him. He is my favorite tank.

His play style is soooo fun. Constant action, constantly firing my chainguns into the enemy and lighting them on fire. Trapping people inside a cage with you as an ultimate awesome. And I cannot describe the rush of charging through anything and everything like a absolute tank and sometimes landing perfectly on someone to crush them. :sunglasses:

Don’t forget that Rivals is still in its honeymoon phase, which gives the devs the incentive to double down on new content in order to strengthen their position as a well-established hero shooter.

Another incentive to release a lot of heroes at once is to catch up with Blizzard quickly in terms of number of heroes.

They want to see headlines and Thumbnails saying “Marvel Rivals already has more Heroes than Overwatch”

You haven’t seen those clips of 2 maugas just standing still shooting at each other for 10 business days not dying at all haven’t you

I’ve always really liked the Fantastic Four! Isn’t Invisible Woman rumoured to be a strategist/support as well? She could be a really interesting hero, I wonder what her kit is like? Will she be able to go invisible? Protect her team with force fields and stuff?

And Ultron is going to be a strategist as well, right? Whenever he is released. Can’t wait for that! His kit apparently was leaked and it did look super interesting.

Hope they focus on making some really cool Tanks/Supports

But yes, it’s mad that MR will look to release 4 heroes in 1 season while we have to wait forever to get 1 hero in OW2.

And their hero releases have been really sub standard for a long time imo as well.

Did not care at the slightest and was mainly mad to not get to play on maps that we already had. Maps dont really play differently in Rivals, so new heroes are for me the much bigger deal.

I think thats a benefit. They can bring out new assets and make multiple maps with it. OW complicates a lot of things for no reason.

Yes he is and I always wanted a drone based support and he seems to be the one. Not to mention how cool it is to have such a dark support.

If the invisible woman (Susan Storm) plays like sombra…or similar…oh man

Agreed! And he has free flight too, right? Similar to Iron Man? I am actually really looking forward to playing him honestly.

They said new heroes, new “maps” and new skins, I expect multiple maps too but could be wrong

It would not be bad as a support I mean Loki can do that also. The problem is always sudden burst damage.

Invisibility on a support is not an issue.

No idea if he can fly, but I also want tot get my hands on him.
