Hanzo… Completely useless if you do not have a team to protect you or enable you from all the novas, zeratuls, valeeras, etc… Completely reliant on flawless in and outs to get lucky magical kills and hopefully last long enough to end the game.
Lt Morales… Clown fiesta QM could have been a Butcher’s ultimate wet dream, but auto select decided to give me medic instead, and it ended up requiring 30 minutes to win the game.
I said it some time ago, when you play QM try not to see it as a competitive mode where your only goal is to “win”. See it as a practicing ground where you take a squishy like Hanzo and throw him into a chaotic enviroment.
Every chaotic experience you get will add up to your overall management of chaotic scenarios when you later decide to journey into Ranked.
If you can handle chaotic scenarios you’d become a better ally for your team when someone picks the heroes you mentioned in ranked where matches are a little less chaotic.
PS. If a let’s say Valeera or Zeratul messes you up in QM. Try to find a way to position yourself where they have to risk something to get to you instead of doing the same misstake of “wandering the woods alone” over and over again. Just giving some tips and tricks.
Stukov, because he can’t participate currently in the Nexus, because he got sent to the quarantine.
Otherwise none, because it’s a completely subjective question and this topic will lead to nothing, except chaos, because it will end ultimately in “remove all heroes, except 1”.
Appreciated, however, the problem isn’t staying alive, I did that very well. It’s that I CANNOT push and win the game with 4 potatoes on my team with hanzo unlike a lot of bruisers (Bruisers are QM carry gods imho). If zera is on me when I am out pushing, I’m dead unless I can outplay him like crazy. Making winning games as hanzo extremely harder. So in QM where most people don’t care about teamwork/coordination and strategy, having a hanzo is a real liability. To carry in QM or low ranks all you need is a powerful macro hero and you will naturally win more than you lose.
No, I wanna know what are your worst heroes in QM if your goal is to win as a solo queue. Not argue about what-ifs and whatever you were thinking lol
And this is highly subjective. While your worst heroes might be Probius or Nova, there are players, who likes this heroes and are good with them.
Globally? Would’ve said Medivh. Checked the QM winrates (Diamond+) for the last 10 patches… yes, it’s Medivh.
A highly team dependant enabler who is forced to play most of its games against Abathur, who has more macro and a way more reliable Heal, two things that actually matter in QM. (Also Aba can take camps way faster, lol.)
Yes it is… that’s the point of the topic. What are your (subjectively percieved) worst hero(es) in QM as a solo queue? I’m curious. Nothing wrong with talking about stuff without having 100% undeniable facts about it… lol
Hanzo is very dependent on having a front line.
Good luck staying alive and doing any meaningful damage if you que solo with him into no tanks on either side, and enemy has Zera, Genji and so on.
Either you’ll die 10+ times or have to hearth back every 20 seconds when you get burst down to 20% HP.
- Anything that requires constant peel. Contrary to her popularity, I think Valla belongs to this group along with Morales, Jaina etc. In QM, nobody will peel for you. Tanks are more interested in yolodiving behind enemy frontline to engage their backline, so you will be very often exposed to enemy Butchers, Genjis, Valeeras, Novas…
- Anything with no waveclear. This is is one of the rules of QM - if you don’t make exp, nobody will. People will go for pointless teamfights with no value for majority of the game, so it’s up to you to make them winning by exp advantage.
- Tanks with no damage, like Johanna. Same rule as waveclear - people will not provide you with followup damage you need, so you will often try to setup while your team will be just sitting ducks behind you.
- Medivh, because people ignore portals.
- Alex, because people ignore her W.
- Deckard, because people ignore potions but if they don’t, they go full retard and fight among themselves for potions.
- Kharazim, because people ignore your greenguy and provide you no anchor to dash to, if you’re in bad situation.
I used to think, that this game is not really for solo players. When I go solo, I almost always go for ARAM. The best thing for QM is to have 2 pals with heroes of good synergy, combo potential and practice.
So I think best heroes for QM are those with either waveclear, self-sustain, survivability or mobility. Fenix is great example, as he’s jack of all trades and can do everything. Varian is good tank for QM, because aside of excellent self-sustain he can provide surprising amount of damage even played as Tank. Uther, Brightwing, Lili and Lucio works well as supports, because they are relatively hard to kill. Locust Aba is forgotten and underappreciated in QM, but his influence can be massive. Sonya is as excellent in QM as she is in competetive, for similar reasons as Fenix but with with more tanky approach.
Agree 100%
Thats how most qm tanks are today even bruisers. People are more interrested in stats padding then protecting his healer that gets constant dived on and then he flames his team for nothing.
Yea or you get matched up againts a team who has 3 specialits while your team has zero wave clear.
Varian cries in a corner everytime he Taunt someone and his own team plays Uno behind him.
Even if people do take his portals they are 90% of the time placed horrible and will force people to avoid them. And most Medivh players are just being a stone that his team falls over time after time casue he dont bring anything to his team.
Yea or because Alex players has no clue about how to place her circles. People will 80% of the time ignore your circle if its placed bad and force out a free kill on him if he stand on it.
Thats thier fault for not knowing how Decard works. He is not a Yolo healer that can move around with a diver that keep diving hard into enemy backline and dies.
Same goes for BW players that ends up having no one to blink to casue everyone keeps running away from you instead of just stop and let you blink to him lol.
I disagree with these. Sure, you can’t build anyhow with them, but:
- Valla: has her double Stun Heroic, her Dodge and Lifesteal from 13, she doesn’t need peel and can dominate in QM.
- Jaina: Frost Armor, Water Elemental, Ice Barrier (and her baseline unlockable Ice Block) is more than enough to peel for herself, I often carry QM games with this “bruiser” Jaina build.
My experience that most Alexs just use it poorly. You should never put it where your allies are, you -as the Healer- require the skill to know where they will/want to be.
And because you have only 1 dmging ability that has a 7 sec cd if you miss. Because you have poor macro. Because you have poor heals. (I think Medivh is a beast tho.)
I’ve actually been dominating on Jaina in QM. She actually has a lot of tools to be effective in most scenarios.
Jaina gets a bad rap as she’s not as flashy or as mobile as more recent mages. She also has to be pretty much in melee range to combo her abilities. She does have some talents like Shield Barrier that are quite helpful in a QM environment and she can wave clear and take camps with ease.
KTZ Imo. Requires a good team and lots of big meatshields for him to get stacks and big boi combos. QM is mostly 5v5 assassins so he gets melted by the billions of genjis and zera one tricks lmao
She’s probably also the best mage to ambush people late game so you can then end the game. 5man Ring of Frost for example.
My favorite build is Fingers of Frost, Frost Shards, Ice Lance, (Ult depending on situation but usually the elemental for free stacks), Icy Veins, Either Numbing Cold or Northern Exposure and finish it off with either Blink or the upgraded R1/R2.
Icy Veins/Ice Lance is too good
Ring of Frost upgrade is a trap talent. People caught in it wont move into the center but away from it so enter dmg gets zero value. Then I would rather pick Blink or Deep Chill for even more slows.
The value is in the Cooldown reduction, idc about the extra middle effect that only catches noobs or poor unlucky souls lol. 9 times out of 10, you’re dead without the middle effect I’d say. It’s like a “win more” talent imo.
Pffft, I dont need a line of bodyguards protecting me when I play Hanzo. I just snipe people dead and know my limitations well enough to move in close for a kill when the enemy team begins to falter.
And for the few games where the enemies are abnormally relentless, theres particular builds that help him escape.
Yes, but his kit is not able to finish games if you don’t have a team to enable you to be useful or else you will eventually get killed or chunked down to 20% and need to back cuz you have no healer.
