Why is my username SwankyPants

I recently set up a new PC and wanted to download Diablo IV. My E-mail was already in use with pretty much no history and the name SwankyPants as the user ID.

Honestly I can’t recall if I’ve used this E-mail to set up an account previously (I did buy Diablo 2 resurrection on PS5 when it released and can’t recall if an account was needed.) This would have been the E-mail used for that, but I know that I never chose that name. I reset the password a few times but I don’t want to use the account if my e-mail was somehow compromised.

Does battlenet autogenerate names?

Battle.net can indeed generate a random name if you don’t chose one when your account is created.

Usually you will have 1 free BattleTag change available per account. You can check to see if you have a free BattleTag name change available in your Battle.net Account Details page
