This isnt the same as the previous joke post i made where i said “what if every hero was buff to be OP”.
This time this is an actual serious what if ( yes , i get serious moments from time to time

I forgot who mentioned it in my last thread but it got to be thinking about it.
What if we doubled the HP pool of all characters ? ( and possibly have all the life % damage/heals halved ) . base damage and healing remains the same.
I guess we could double the mana pool as well since we would be at it 
I can see this deffinitely cause a huge impact to the game for sure. Fights would likely be prolonged in duration , ganks wouldnt be as deadly ( possibly )
I do see positives and negatives in doing so but was wondering about your opinion on this.

I don’t hate the idea.
Tanks may not be able to have double health though.
They have loads already may make them unkillable.

A very bad idea to just toss around blanket HP buffs without changing a lot of other things.
% based damage and healing would become King, Queen and Jester of the game. Burst damage would largely lose it’s place. Heroes build around sustained team fighting would also become dominant. Squishy assassins designed for poking or diving and quickly getting picks would suffer greatly.
Objective fights could drag on for stupidly long periods of times and I could see the vast majority of fights becoming “which healer runs out of mana first”

Health would be doubled, but not healing or damage. Self healing heroes like leo or dehaka, muradin or etc would be must picks, birst heroes would be completely out of the meta (and frankly I would not mind that one bit) heroes with sustained builds and damage would be also the cornerstones of drafts, mercs ironically would see less use as heroes even as squishy as vikings can easily stall them.

And pretty much every hero in the game would be able to solo Bosses…
It would result in long drawn out battles where people don’t die, and might shift people toward just suiciding toward structures.
I am strongly for changing the equation by making heroes less prone to dying to CC + burst, but the other half of the change that I’ve been suggesting would reduce cooldowns and mana costs proportionally.
With more time where abilities are off cooldown, higher skilled players would have more opportunities to outperform their opponents, and the skill ceiling (and floor a bit) would be raised.
I think reducing damage across the board would be better than buffing health, for the sake of the % damages people are mentioning here.

You’d make CC burst and %damage even more sought after.
I did mentioned that hp % damage and and heals would be cut by half .
So even by doubling the HP of everyone , their damage or heals would remain the same .
If all HP was doubled then you all burst champions (most mages, etc) will really feel the pain, while all sustain or autoattackers will rise higher.
The thing is, today Jaina or Kel’Thuzad can blow up most of the champions or leave the rest severely hurt.
If HP was doubled, those champions will take 50-60% of hero HP, and then become a dud for several seconds while their cooldowns refresh.
CC will also lose potency considerably, because most champions will be able to simply wait it out, then walk away and still not die.
In fact, the number of kills will decrease severely, because with such large HP pools it will be relatively easy to escape from any CC or danger.
TLDR: the game will be severely broken, fights will turn into a slug (they are already very long), and the game will need severe rebalancing in all areas.

Uther would be OP, Johanna would be immortal, and Yrel would be first-pick/first-ban. Basically, anyone who can provide armor to their team would be busted if a change like this went through.

Does this mean Alex’s Blessing of the Red would give people on her team an extra 1k HP? How about Anub’s Regen Master?
Hungry for More Stitches with an extra 60 HP per globe would be a nightmare…

Myslef, were you the same guy who mentioned the possible dmg the ally hero game mode?
If yes, then i have to say as a possible game mode i would try this one with a lot of heroes.
Except zuljin. He would suck hard.
Terrible idea. A lot of balancing is dependent on how effective damage is, suddenly halving all damage would break tons of Heroes if not the entire game.
On a more general note: why not provide your own analysis? If you’re so interested in this idea, at least try to consider the full implications yourself. Do some experimenting. Give some clear benefits and downsides of what would be different, something more than a vague ‘fights would be longer’. It feels really lazy when you’re the one putting up an idea, but not putting any actual thought into it yourself.
