I know that once upon a time you could get banned for leaving a game with AI. I hope they’ve removed that stupidity…

Because if it is a baton pass race and you go to pass the baton but the person you are passing the baton to left the race so it just drops on the floor causing an instant loss. To use a real life example.
Specific brawls were this, but since it became perpetual 5v5 all middle shuffle pick there are no PvP game modes that do not involve other people on your team. Ignoring custom matches which do not count and I do not think you can get leaver stacks from those.
Unless somehow they added back the lunar new year race map that you are referring to? If that is causing leaver stacks then it is likely due to an oversight and it using the same brawl mode as all middle shuffle pick, and all the other team based brawl maps like pull party.
As far as I am aware you could never get leaver stacks, let alone banned, for leaving vs AI games. It is very common for maximum XP farmers to leave bad map picks at start, and no one gets leaver penalties, however they are leaving as a full 5 man party so no player is left alone.
I dont think chatgpt over here understood anything you wrote. Yea, the lunar brawl FFA shouldn’t punish people for leaving…but here we are. Don’t expect much change…
I don’t know why you’d want to leave though, you can just afk for no punishment, just like in the other modes.
