For the last week, my game has been crashing regularly. I solely play ranked, and the first crash caused me to get a “leaver penalty” in which I had to win 1 game in brawl or QM. It always crashes in the draw moment, which makes it unable for me to reconnect to the game so it doesn’t see me as a “leaver”. I won the game, and played a bit again. The next day, I had another crash - had to win 2 games now before I could play ranked again. Great. As if winning in Brawl or QM is any fun (I surely don’t enjoy it) and it can take quite a while too with all the other leavers and throwers in these game modes.
Finally managed to get 2 wins not too long ago. Then today, it crashed again, and now I need to win 3 games. 3. I can’t send in a crash report as that crashes too, I can’t reconnect as it was during the draw moment (I can restart the game within seconds, but that doesn’t do anything), I can’t help the game crashing on me, I lose 500 ranked points, and I need to win games in gamemodes I don’t even like before I can play again? What kind of bull is this, honestly. You are punishing people for crap others do (I can see how this is implemented to stop people from leaving games, but my games haven’t even started yet, and no one suffers from my disconnect, aside from having wasted a few minutes in draw).
Stop punishing players that can’t help disconnecting, allow them to either start up the game and don’t add a leaver penalty to them (if they can return within minutes), or make it play games, instead of winning. So it doesn’t get such a drag, and the game can actually remain fun to people. Or add a way to appeal this crap, so it can be looked at and become more fair.
Game starts in draft. You also don’t know how much time people were waiting in queue for that match and you crashing forced them to queue again, when they could have just got a game with someone that wouldn’t crash. Even if you leave during draft, you are still hurting people in some way or another.
I also highly suggest you solve your crash problems first if you want to play. Leaver penalty is really fair right now.
yeah don’t play if you’re experiencing crashes very often. don’t play ranked specially how about you send a ticket about this? they can help you out i’ve been experiencing that too but not anymore and i suggest you to send a ticket telling them about the problem
Leaver penalty is fair, but only for those that actually leave and don’t return. If you have crashing issues, you get punished unfairly. Also, I can reconnect within minutes (and it won’t crash again after that first one), but as I have no option to reconnect (as I would have if I crashed in a game that already started), I can never obt out of the leaver penalty. You must be honest, this is unfair if you crash on the wrong moment and for reasons you can not help.
If you’re having costant issues and cannot properly play a match without dc-ing you shouldn’t be playing (expecially Ranked).
Even if you go off for few minutes, it still ruin both your mates and the enemies experience because a team is left with a bot for some time and we all know how bad that can be.
Pointless to keep insisting on queue up and then rant when you get punished.
The problem is, they can’t tell who just disconnected or crashed, and who left on purpose.
As they don’t want people who disconnected for reasons they can’t control to get THAT much punished, you can get your points back every match once you start playing ranked again.
This is the most fair system we had so far tbh. It sucks to have to play a leaver game when you disconnected for reasons you don’t control? Yeah, kinda, but it’s necessary so those who leave on purpose actually get punished. And you can get your points back.
If you are having a lot of crashes, try to solve that first before coming back to the game so you don’t get punished again.
I only crash once, and only during the drawing moment - never after that. If I don’t crash, I won’t crash the games after. It’s either the first game, or not. And yes, I did ask blizzard about this while ago, and how to solve it, but they didn’t know and just blaimed me. It didn’t happen for a while after that time, and now the crashes returned. Yay.
Oh please stop with these kind of topics already. Be it intentional or not you wasted 9 other players’ time and you may have ruined their games. If your internet is unstable or may be having other problems, it is better that it happened in draft than during the match, which would only make it that much worse. It’s a standardised solution to keep control repeat offenders.
About the part where you ask as if winning a brawl or a QM is any fun? Is it fun playing with users like you? No it is not. Reported for trolling.
Yes, not in draft. But if you disconnect in a game, if you reconnect and continue, you won’t be placed in the leaver penalty. So they should give people who disconnect in draft the option to at least reconnect to the game (not the draft, but just the game), so they don’t get seen as leaver, as they wouldn’t have been seen as leaver in a regular game. People with crash issues with the draft are just screwed this way.
And I did try, just not on this forum. Pretty sure there is an older forum elsewhere, or I made a ticket, or I did so with another account. I can’t remember, but have discussed this issue before with the defs (I don’t see why I should discuss something on an open forum in the first place). I also had the problem on overwatch and have been in contact with them back then too.
Unless you are a Mac user, where the game is currently very unstable for a lot of players, that kind of is your fault…
On Windows I have played over 13,000 matches since Alpha and the game only crashed 2-3 times in total, all of which were actual game bugs that have long since been fixed. HotS is one of the most stable games I have ever played.
Draft screen crashes seem to be a common crash type. I recall them affecting people who are using Intel graphics more than discrete NVidia or AMD graphics. Sometimes this can be graphic driver related. I suggest using Display Driver Uninstaller to completely remove all your graphic drivers and then clean installing the latest from the graphic provider (or OEM) site.
