The system in an attempt at “Balance” will pick occasional stints where it chucks Good players in with nothing but chumps and scrubs. The more you win? The more often you enter these periods of forced mediocrity, where it seems like your team mates always suk.
They call it the, “Mentorship system”. By putting good players with a bunch of morons, in the hopes the idiots can learn from the seasoned player. It has done this since FOREVER.
What i do against this? I just assume that every team i’m matched with Sux, and always dedicated myself to backing them up as effectively as possible.
wait, there is a system like this in hots? you sure they are not just doing this trying to cover up the lack of player base and justifying their high queue time?
Every long-time HOTS player has experienced these strange but, consistent trends. One minute they’re doing pretty well and suddenly… they enter a streak of non-stop, crushing losses. Where it seems like you just can’t catch a break, in regards to being matched with nothing but morons.
At first we always think we’re just going through a “bad stint lately”. Or just picking a bad time to play. But the more you play, the more you recognize these trends.
Like i said in the post above, the secret to still doing well during times when the system is only matching you with fools? Get crazy good at team back-up. That means staying glued to whatever gaggle of morons you’re stuck with, and backing them up as effectively as possible while they’re diving in.
Edit: Inotherwords, you need to learn play EVERY match like you’re Permanently stuck in the Mentorship Que. So that way you can continue to do well, even during times when you’re getting stuck with the screw-ups.
i do notice these 10 losing streak games, but for me personally, my server’s population is pretty low, QM is the only mode that is being played, not to mention my server are filled with smurfs and 5 man stacks. so i cant tell whether is that trend for real or not.
around 7/10 games i get a smurf on enemy team or 5/10 games enemies are 5 stacks against a bunch of solo queues player in my lobby.
Yeah everybody think they’re “unlucky” at first, “everybody has a bad streak sometimes”, etc. But i’ve been playing consistantly for 2+ yrs now, THOUSANDS of matches, etc.
Anyway, like i said, make your focus backing up your team first & foremost. Do this and it won’t matter if you’re stuck in the mentorship que. I won a match just now and wasn’t even sure how good my team mates were. Because everytime a team fight happened, i was right behind them wrecking shop. I didn’t give them the chance to screw-up and throw the match.
It’s just a good attitude to have either way. Back up your crew at all times.
wow, what you say is really very similar to the truth. My defeats very often alternate with gains in equal amounts … And during all this, I really often get the feeling that the system, as it were, knows in advance when it will be. I just have a “déjà vu”, and then it’s all backed up by an analysis of player profiles after matches, like in my case.
It’s a team based game for crying out loud… It will be close to impossible for the system to give you matches where “skill” and “mmr” is of question. It will just give what it calculates and reads as “optimal” even tho it could be NOTHING close to being accurate.
This game IS a gamble game specifically and precisely for the reason that this game is TEAM BASED. If opponents go full stun build you will rely on this “Team” to react. If they don’t and never does then you as a individual player wont carry the matches as much as u thought u would.
No there is not lol. Bad players like inventing “theories” to explain why they are losing instead of accepting the fact that it’s on them. It’s too hard for them to accept that a lvl25 player can be as good or better than them Xd.
Or that the enemy also had a player with a similar mmr and the MMR-averaging (maybe thanks to certain premades which is fine) had to give one to them to balance the odds out.
Too bad. That’s how the system works. Like i said in my post earlier, you want to keep winning and doing well when you’re knee-deep in the Mentorship Que? You need to change how you play and be extra watchful of your team mates.
It’s been a while since i’ve had one of those demoralizing loss streaks. But that’s because, Good team mates or bad, i’m backing up my guys to the best of my ability either way. Even if i have to carry the team single-handedly.
The drawback of this is, not every character is capable of carrying a team. They have a decent amount on the roster who are great at doing their own thing and…that’s it. Those characters can’t carry for anything. So they’re kinda stuck eating a loss if they’re matched with a team of pushovers.
Luckily, my favorite characters i main, Azmo & Hammer are great at carrying. So i’m always ready to pick up the slack for when the system decides to stick me with the losers.
It’s pretty simple actually, for the system to determine who the “weaker” and “better” players are. Going not just be their sheer win/lose rate but, there other stats (typical dmg output, enemy kills, typical death rate, etc).
And using this, the system can determine who the Good & Mediocre players are, and match them accordingly to “balance” things out.
Pretty much. The change over from HL and SL and all the revisions that came with it, make it safer, wiser and easier to play and win in a group than solo. I know others will disagree, but ranks mean little now. Outside of Master and GM, we are now playing Team League and ranks in that mode were always considered a joke because the mode was easy to abuse with boosting and smurfing compared to solo queue Hero League.
Why they allow people to group two ranks apart in SL I can’t work out. It’s supposed to be the competitive mode, you shouldn’t be a Diamond who can can group with a Gold.
Well, well, well…It seems that we have reached an impasse
The system twists you up - yes, can you counteract this - not always, how long will you be enough - no, is it difficult to play without a team - yes, will you create it for this - ofc not
Dont worry my friend. Blizzard team are very inteligent and they do everyting to make your matches draw, maximum draw. When I play, every 20-30 matches coming loss streak about 13-15 loses a raw. Its not once not twice. I observe it many many times. I asked on forum about it and get same answer like you (nothing), They dont carry about you or me, they carry about money, only this.
