Stuttering in game, high ping and packet loss to EU server

I have stuttering in game with Fresh Win 10 install, drivers up to date. Hooked directly to modem via Wire. Try mode is fine, so I’m guessing it’s network related.

Ping to 37.244.24.131 seems high, with packet loss between 20-70% (never 0). Is this a problem on my end (My ISP?) Or Blizzard?

Hey Discokatt,

37.244.24.131 is configured to give less priority to test packets which causes the packet loss and high latency that shows up in tests.

Can you try running a WinMTR instead and post that?

  1. Download WinMTR
  2. Right-click on the downloaded .zip folder and select “Extract All”, to extract the files to a new folder.
  3. Open the new folder that was created, then open the WinMTR_x64 folder.
  4. Right-click on the WinMTR application and select “Run as administrator”.
  5. Type the IP address 185.60.112.157 in the “Host” field.
  6. Click on “Start” and then launch the game. Allow the test to run for at least 10 minutes or at least the duration of a match. Click on “Stop” when you’re done playing after you have experienced the latency or connection issue.
  7. Click on “Copy Text to Clipboard”, paste the results here, then highlight everything and hit the </> button in the posting section so it will allow links.

Both of these WinMTRs look great actually. No packet loss and low latency to the router and at the server.

If you experienced stuttering and connection issues in the match when these tests were running then whatever is causing it isn’t showing up in the connection tests.

Maybe try to see if there’s anything running on the system that might be causing the stuttering. I’d recommend rebooting using Selective Startup and then test it out again.

  1. Press Windows Key+R.
  2. Type msconfig and press Enter.
  3. Select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items.
  4. Select the Services tab.
  5. Check Hide all Microsoft services.
  6. Note: Skipping this step may prevent your computer from rebooting correctly.
  7. Click Disable all.
  8. Click Apply then click OK.
  9. Click Restart.
