Introduction video
I lost this match, teammates went potato after, one spider wave damaged 4 teammates and then they got killed
As you can see I’m mostly aiming for moments where the enemy walks into straight path’s or are near terrain corners. I always like to show fights that are messy and chaotic to see how I react to it and try to keep controll.
Stitches rework is a great success. The hero is now in many eyes useful and in a good place.
**Please check out my previous stitches guide about basics and what your role is**
Why pick him?
He is a fat radious tank who does great waveclear, dmg and has an insane healthpool who can take a lot of hits for your team.
And on top of all, he is easy, very disrubtive late game
When you have dmg around learn to stand your ground. You are incredible tanky
Should you take dmg for your team?
Yes while not facetanking everything you as a tank is the main defence when it comes to greedy opponents, camps invades and contesting objectives
That being said you should avoid unnessecary dmg like orpheas ethernal feast or a valla stacking on you when possible
First a few things
Never spam E, only use it when you are hurt below 70% health
Q can be used close up for a “stun”
Lets talk about the ultimates before use
Gorge: It can be used 2 ways
The most simple is gorge and run away for your team. Be aware of someone with mobility or diablo who can just get out without a sweat. This needs little explination because we all fell victem to it more then once.
The 2nd one it is a short range garenteed 4s “cacoon” you remove someone for 4s away from the field. This is perfect if the victim is a tank or has a nanoboost stimpack, abahat. Dont underestimate how long 4 seconds can feel without a 5th member.
The 2nd ultimate called vile infection is a slow You simply need to walk around your enemys or draw a line with the text “You shall not pass” They will try to escape, use this as an advantage, but your primairy job is to ult. Not to autoattack You can walk past to backline to seperate them from the frontline. Builds Lvl 1 Trust your healer > Patchwork creation Lots of regens > Hungry for more, but dont pick this on open maps like Battlefield or hanamura. In the early game be committed to do a lot split pushing Savor the flavor I cant really recommend, maybe only pick him a lot of damage over time AA build (this requires you to land a short range hook)
In fights:
Be very aggressive but stay an ETC powerslide away from your teammates. So they can deal damage around you. Your fat so if they try to go for your backline either just let them and block the rest of your team. Or use your body to hold them back
How to play Stitches when your bad at hooking
I’m not discussing meta or where he is in a tier list. Because this is ever changing.
I do believe that meta exist but every player makes its own impact on a hero. So this guide is my trying to help you understand him more.
Stitches is a main tank but can’t be the only CC in your team
This is very important to know when to draft him. He has movement speed but no dash or teleport this is also his weakness in case your facing off something like a Tychus or KTZ. Your hitbox is huge be aware of that , its your strenght and weakness.
Which level one should I take?
- Previously I stated that patchwork creation should be picked if you trusted your healer this is no longer a thing.
- Now this helps you vs burst damage. One slam should do the trick but keep autoattacking because its awesome.
- If there are many regen globes and the enemy doesn’t have % damage, pick hungry for more also if alex go W build pick it. But remember don’t int for regen globes. But your body is fat enough to stand on the enemy regen globe so they won’t steal it
- Savor the flavor when your team lacks damage or when face have damage over time. This is also my favorite talent on hanamura or BoE because of the lack of regen globes.
But don’t activate it with 100% health unless you pick second helping
Now I know which level one , what build should I go?
Stitches has a couple of builds (I don’t have TL3 remove the " " in between the link

As you notice I really like pulverize, this doesn’t mean other talents are bad, but Pulverize is just really good regardless if your going a damage build. It aids you and your team.
Should you play stitches if your a beginning tank?
Yes, he has self substain damage and high impact.
If you have trouble tanking or feel pressure while doing it
Don’t worry your doing great by trying at one point you are confident enough to draft him comfortly
- With the new fishing hook change try to aim for objectives or camps if you feel daring. With some luck you can fish an enemy out.
- Beware of Varian because health reduction is your worst enemy
