South Park "Jenkins the Griefer" Cosplayer has died of COVID-19

I was at this Blizzcon, I think it was my first Blizzcon IIRC. He came out wheeling an entire desk setup.

Unfortunately, he has passed away from COVID-19.

Stay safe, fellow HOTS gamers. I’ve had COVID-19, it is not fun. Now I’m personally suffering from lung complications almost 2 months later. Please, stay safe, don’t get this ugly virus. :sob:

R.i.p. Jarod.

the mortality is low for young people hurr durr I’m not going to wear a mask

About that. I got this scum of a disease 3 months ago. I didn’t die as you can obviously see, but I still keep coughing every two minutes, my lungs hurt, I can’t taste food anymore.

So, yeah. Keep ignoring safety covid precautions, folks.

There are many ways to become a casualty of this besides being burned in the crematory.

Same for me. My lungs feel like I spent the previous day doing nothing but huffing ammonia. My SP02 has dropped as low as 83% sometimes and I coughed up a small amount of blood last Tuesday.

This virus is absolutely no joke. I go to see a respiratory specialist tomorrow to see if there’s something I can do about the lung pain and shortness of breath. I’m only 34, not too young, but not too old.

Please, everyone, be careful. Stay safe, we can get through this.

I didn’t know that character was based on a real person, that’s very sad, as well as hearing all these cases of contracting the virus. I have heard lots of cases where people have lingering issues. So please stay safe, I hope you friends are doing ok.

No its the other way around, he was cosplaying the character from south park

Nasty decease but its very important to not only stay inside but also stay fit and healthy. A friend of mine who had covid was in the risk group because he was overweight.
So stay healthy but safe <3

This forums are probably not the best place to say this, but anyway

I think what was mentioned by a couple of posters is really important and isn’t discused a lot when talking about the disease: if you catch the darn thing, even if you survive it, it can still have long-lasting complications!

Also hapened with the N1H1 pandemic a few years ago, young people tought they weren’t in danger because the statistics said it “almost never” killed the young, and we ended up with a bunch of teens and young adults still going to parties, getting infected, surviving, and finding out that being able to breath properly is kinda nice.

So as everyone said: take care of yourselves, people!

R.I.P Jarod Nandin. He looked like a really nice guy as well. I remember him being a highlight when I was playing HOTS and the game was new back then.

Screw covid.

And that 1% hypothetical estimate is actually a very lowball estimate, based on people trying to downplay the severity even further. This disease has held a roughly 2%+ mortality rate worldwide.

Wear. Your. Masks.

I’d take this covid thing seriously. I don’t know why nay-sayers keep saying covid doesn’t exist and trying to say it’s the cold and flu only. To me, it’s pretty much a slap in the face for those that have passed and for the families that have suffered and suffering because of covid and losing loved ones. Covid’s struck down well known elderly celebrities and high profile people (such as Jarod and other well known healthy people on other sites I visit).

Cold and flu has a high survivable rate where even the complications are least likely to kill, compared to covid and its complications that it can cause. If cold/flu was the case for Jarod and other well known celebs/people, they would’ve survived it. From the point BEFORE covid and during covid, there’s never been a death on an elderly celebs and high profile known people dying from the cold and flu, compared to covid. So people, do take this seriously.

In Australia, we have lock-downs and we do our own bit to follow protocols. We even got those annoying track-in where we have to swipe our phones to indicate where we’ve been going, known as covid tracking.

Anyway, stay safe people. Once again, RIP to Jarod. It’s really sad. Even other sites I visit are paying immense respects to him.

Awww this is so sad! I have tears in my eyes! I didn’t know him personally but I did see him and thought his costume was hella funny! I’d like to think he was a good guy with a good sense of humor to make up a costume like that. R.I.P

RIP, every day more bad news. Wear your masks, distance and be safe.

As someone with history of lung collapse I can verify that being able to breathe is not overrated. I’m usually very anti social but I’m slowly bursting at the seams after a whole full year of being forced to live like this. For a while I was worried of transmitting the disease to those who are close to me, but after losing some of them I’m not as indifferent to hanging out with people in a closed room.

Rest In Peace, you will be missed.

True, we shouldn’t understimate the virus, but we shouldn’t overstimated it either. What is the problem comparing Covid with the flu virus? If you did your research, then you should know that this virus can also heavy damage to the human body and the after effects of it are at least similar. The only difference between covid and flu is that one is at least newer.

On topic: R.I.P. it’s really sad, if someone dies early, because of sth. like covid or cancer.

Is it for certain? I have some friends, who got covid and one of them lost his ability to smell, but now after weeks it slowly returns and still they don’t mentioned sth. like that.

Wear those masks tight.

I’m very sorry about your uncle.

And yes its alarming how many people aren’t in touch with the cold harsh reality of this global situation.

Because the flu has a short incubation time and generally doesn’t leave people with permanent disabilities.

It’s not just about the mortality rate, it’s about what the virus does to you and how absurdly hard it is to stop transmission due to how long it incubates.

I’m no expert, but as I understand it, it can cause permanent damage (to the lungs or other organs), but it doesn’t in every case.

Still, not worth the risk in the slightest IMO (I kinda like my lungs, especially when they’re working properly… You could even say I’m attached to them :stuck_out_tongue:)

Same as other risks: for example, some people are in traffic accidents and die; others are in traffic accidents and survive, but with permanent injuries; others survive and have no major long-lasting effects… NOBODY in their right mind would claim you can ignore traffic safety regulations because “my friend crashed, but he’s fine!”.
