South Park "Jenkins the Griefer" Cosplayer has died of COVID-19

I’m starting a steroid treatment for the next month or two to try and get my lungs back into shape, but as it stands I’m out of breath just walking from the car to the house.

I’m in fairly good shape, a little overweight, but not obese. I feel like I’m 600 lbs with the breathing issues I’m having after getting COVID.

I just hope at this point the lung damage isn’t permanent.

Aside from the potential for long term health effects, which Sami has linked you below, Covid19 is not comparable to most flu strains. Covid19 is more contagious than the majority of flu strains, as of now there is no poof a population can gain herd immunity as you can with many strains of the flu, it is also not seasonal like the flu. It also has higher incubation times compared to most flu strains and people can remain asymptomatic but contagious for long periods of time. It also needs to be said, we are still learning about Covid19.

It’s very dangerous and not scientific to compare covid19 to the flu. They share some superficial symptoms, that’s about all.

Odd that everyone here ignores the fact that this guy was very obese. Obesity already strains your heart and lungs by itself. Combine that with Covid and your chances for survival are low, regardless of your age.

He seemed like a decent guy and all, but he really didn’t take care of himself. Covid is a more serious risk for people with pre-existing health issues, like obesity, and the elderly.

Exactly, this is also my obversation through twitter or other statistics based websites.

Isn’t it a bit weird to say “it is not scientific compare it to flu” on the one hand, but on the other saying “we are still learning about it”? Surely I can be wrong about what I said so far, but it is still my experience with covid so far, because I have 2 friends and my cousin, who had it. And my cousin just basically just said he had abit of fever and nose problems like you see, when you have flu as well… The other one had “only” lost his ability to smell (another symphtome of flu!), but it is returning. Sure this experiences are not representive to say that’s covid, but at least something. That’s why I said we shouldn’t understimate nor overstimate it.

I know what you mean, but don’t we have this in other cases too - not just covid?

No, because they do know enough about Covid19 to know it’s not a flu virus.

That is what is known as anecdotal evidence. I suggest you look up offical figures and information compiled by CDC and WHO. You must keep in mind too that normal seasonal flu’s don’t overwhelm ER’s and hospitals, which Covid19 (without lock downs) does.

And let the 500 Laps of Living Room begin.
On a serious note, how do you stay healthy if you stay inside?
I would go to walk/jog a distance every 2-3 days but we have curfew, ongoing for 3 months and expected to last 4-6.
Unfortunately I do a really good job misting and sweating up the mask so in just a couple minutes I’m turning into a waterboarding training.

Consequently, I’m getting in a bad shape anyway. Not blood coughing level, but weakness, occasional lung hurt, heart funsies, bits of extra fat (adds up, it’s been a year), sugar level…

The question isn’t whether I’m getting sick, because I am being made sick. The question is, which path. Buried alive.

Because they only live by conspiracy theory and nothing more. This pandamic is just a true example how dark humans can get and they only fuel the flame even more by going againts thier own goverment and spread fear on the streets by making up lies about the vaccine does not work and will only give problems later on or people who makes huge revolts on the streets.

But thats what you get when you live in a country were everyone has free will to do what they want and can say what they want on social media.

People should just stop all this conspiracy nonesence and start helping each other insteed of making a big media fire out of this.

And yes it is a slap in the face for those who are already dead of it when you see celebreties take pictures of themself in Dubei without face mask and people who dont repect the laws the goverment make to help people get rid of this virus.

But as long people can do what they want and say what they want the conspiracy theory media fire will keep burning.

Here is what I am doing that helps and stay fit but I’m also getting crazy, I don’t have that many hobby’s besides the TV , PC and painting

  • I walk half an hour a day
  • Run twice in a week
  • I’m sitting a hour while gaming on an yoga ball or whatever its called (kneechair is also good)
  • I play VR (yes , its a great exercise and the oculust quest 2 isn’t that expensive anymore)
  • I switch between mouse and controller when I game
  • I cook more
  • I’ve ordered senced candles I light on in the eve and switching between the 3 of them
  • I wear jeans during office hours and sweatpants when i’m done
  • I still take care of my hygienic needs to look fresh every day
  • Boardgames on tabletop sim or other stuff once a week with friends

Anyway if you have tips yourself please let me know

This may sound really weird and somewhat childish, but get a jump rope. Even just a length of regular rope works. Instead of sitting to watch a video or TV, jump rope as you do it.

If you mean physical health (ehich I assume you are, since you mentioned jogging), there are excercises you can do at home.

Something like the jump rope Hoku suggested might not work for everyone (I, for example, live on a 4th story, so jumping around would be very not-nice to my downstairs neighbor), but you still have other options.

You can do squats and pushups, maybe pilates, that kinda thing (I’m sure it’s not too hard to find a decent personal fitness channel on Youtube, or something).

In my case, the problem is more actually doing it. I know I should, but I keep saying “I’ll start next week” (though that’s a problem I already had before quarantine started).

An advantage of working out at home is that you don’t have the mask problem you described, and that you’re never too far from a shower.

If you instead/also meant mental health… Then I can’t give you any advice, sorry.
I never had any issues adjusting to not leaving my home, so I guess I’m lucky that way.

I’ve read a philosophy article a week ago - one of the main values of Western culture is the openness to questions, and questioning your reality and the supposed truth that you are being told.

Roll back time a few hundred years. World has been created (possibility). World is flat (false). Sickness is caused by bad air (has merit). We are conjured out of mud. There is only one true Church.

Asking “really? you sure?” and questioning official statements (despite inquisition) is what moves the world forward.

My own example shows that some decisions probably aren’t well thought out. Heck, some parts of my city you have to wear a mask 24/7, other parts you don’t. Is either of them clever and the other an idiot, or does it depend on circumstances (living alone or with family, having a garden or just an apartment, being able to exercise or upsetting below neighbors with it, in a busy downtown or in the suburbs).

Of course denying the existence of the virus is quite extreme.

By the way, evolutionist humanists would vote for zero curfew. Those who survive it are worthy of living.
… Yet again, its challenges are similar to space travel. Who knows, it’s early weeding!

Oh, if anything, that is a very fantastic idea. I love it at work.
All the rest is useful. Also Hoku & Efede, thanks.

Tips, I don’t really have. I did gather some fitness stuff as Efede mentioned, did some of it. Had a very painful moment two days ago (chest ache) so now I’m scared, but I’ll try to get back gradually.

As someone who studied something medical
If you have a cough or something, realize its winter :stuck_out_tongue: If it stays longer or you have several complaints then it might be worth a check up

I’m sort of going to echo what was already said, but squats pushups and sit ups are great. Same with lunges and if you can get your hands on some barbells that’s great too. If you can’t, gallon jugs of water weigh about 5 lbs each and can be used to work out with. If you can get a hold of those
