I’m one of the most thick skinned HotS players, and I can endure much, but the patch pattern is really really really disturbing. First we get patches 5 weeks apart from each other, then next (content) patch comes 7 weeks later, and it’s only half the volume usual patches are. I’m really starting to lose hope for the game
Yep, small team and all that. Enjoy what we get and have fun.
enjoy what we get better than nothing.
Small team -.-
have their team really been cut down by 70%, and only 30% of them remain? Is that why we are getting content at that much slower rate?
Before we used to get a new hero + 1-4 reworks every 4 weeks. Now we are getting… 1 hero + 1 rework over 12 weeks. 3 times slower, for less content.
I’d say if that’s the case the very least thing they can do is stop caring about labeling patches as rework patches, balance patches and hero patches, and they should just release heroes and reworks whenever they are ready, not having to wait for a hero/rework patch before releasing a hero/rework, that is actually ready and waiting.
Yes, that’s exactly what happened. Dunno if it’s been cut down to 70%, 50%, or whatever, but it’s been cut down and by a lot.
People said the game would suffer nothing and it would all be fine, but now they are seeing the truth.
For me, it’s kinda sad to have smaller patches and having a long time between them, but it’s fine tbh. I prefer they actually work on the game itself instead of heroes/skins/events.
I got what I wanted. Why do I need to care how long it went to me? I waited, I got it, I enjoyed it.
People did their best. I thank them.
or its just the content they want to test.
not like they can’t have non-ptr content hit the game.
I feel like they’ve done more balancing all around now than pre team cuts. We’ve had full reworks for aba, ana, chromie, lucio, and now Chen in just a few months. Mini ones for anub’arak, kharazim, and a few other heroes I’m sure I’m forgetting. I don’t need a constant stream of cosmetics thrown at me all the time.
What truth? That people ragequitted for no reason?
Ye, not enuff maps and heroes, totally unplayable.
How did you people survive gaming even 5 years ago? The whole weekly patch and/or content updates is a very new phenomena.
Learn some patience.
Eh, we always kinda did that. They also sad around Blizzcon that this year they would focus more on that, so it’s not a “now the team is doing that after the cut”. Just following things they planned.
Blizzard killed the competitive aspect of the game and now it totally balancing around the casuals, killing the game for higher ranks and competitive tournaments.
Game is just insanely casual now, everyone knows that.
Tbh I wish the space goat could have gotten a huge buff so it would be worth buying g the skin and playing her
If only there was something reassuring that what I want is coming. In the AMA they said the latest hero releases have been ones highly anticipated by the community. Yet the hero I want is only asked for by a handful of people. And since we are getting only 3 heroes per year, I may never see her
Yeah they should do what the players say.
“Half” a patch? The Chen Rework is enormous, he’s basically a new character. And there’s a new event and a bunch of new skins and art and music… how can you consider this to be “half” a patch?
It’s 3 new skins and 1 rework. In the past, as in the last time they did reworks, they did them in batches of 2. Chromie and Lucio last time and Abathur and Ana before that.
Chen’s a big boy and takes up two seats on a flight.
There’s also a new season of storm league coming up in less than two weeks. I expect there will be new features (loss forgiveness, new rank decay rules etc) released along with it so they were probably busy working on those as well. I’m surprised they haven’t announced them or included in the PTR yet.
It was 2 reworks and no new skins.
This one is an event (with 3 skins and mounts) with 1 rework
Yet skins don’t really impact the gameplay. Furthermore artists aren’t programmers and programmers aren’t artists. Three different teams are working on new heroes, new skins and reworks of old heroes. Unless they’ve merged the hero release team with the rework team… idk… but my point is that getting new skins isn’t an excuse for us to get only 1 rework, opposed to the usual 2.
