Feel free to teach us right and dump all your Hanzo knowledge here, best talents, strats, Stormbow build Vs Scatter Arrow, etc, etc. I’m all ears.
But you can’t teach us what you don’t know.

Ask him. For the first start you could click on the link. There are some names from good Hanzo players. You could google this names and voila you have your lesson.
If he knew anything, he’d have spoken up by now. Not just dropped a silly stat profile and left. Whatever. I’ll just have to accept that the character sux and move on.
If you were interested in learning, you would realize that there are names of good Hanzo players, but as we see you insists… so you actually don’t want to learn.
You keep talking about him like theres some deep antient secret thats been passed down for generations and generations and that once someone learns it they unlock hanzos full potential and instantly ascend to masters.
But like, hes really not that complicated. Q does damage in a line, W deals damage when you bounce it off a wall, E reveals an area and both ults are good at long range. There are a couple neat tricks but for the most part its just good aim. You dont land all the skill shots, you dont do the damage. You do hit them and you’ve got an 841 damage burst thats pretty much instant and on a short cooldown with no talents.
^^ Wow. That’s an impressively long and drawn-out way of not really saying anything. But at this point, i’m guessing you just like to hear yourself talk.
Whatever. I’ve given up on Hanzo. Every so often i might play him for the heck of it but, otherwise, meh.
Hanzo is one of the most popular ranged assassin picks in competitive (4th of ranged assassins in overall CCL stats (played in 107 games; #1 cassia has 170 games), higher winrate than all 3 more popular ones). Just open a random CCL match and there’s high chance you’ll see your good hanzo.
Hanzo is not op or weak - he’s balanced just right, he definitely doesn’t need any changes at all. Still, Hanzo is also one of the best ranged assassins in the game atm. Sure, he’s one of the hardest ranged assassins too, but that only makes him more attractive and much more interesting to play.
P.S. I’d say the shimada bros are 2 of the most well designed ranged assassins overall - they’re unique, have very high skill ceiling (so you’ll never get bored playing them), have engaging and interesting kits, can be very strong yet also very counterable.
Oh my… I think I’m beginning to see where Landmine is coming from here.
Also every time you link to heroes profile I learn something new about how the site works. lol
Come on. Genji is genuinely trash right now. Hanzo is “harder” to pick up than other assassins (more skillshots) but he is super safe to play also (long range) - and he seems balanced. Good design indeed, valuable in some circumstances and not in other.
But Genji? Blizzard has nerfed the hell out of him and he is just plain bad. You could argue picking Hanzo over Valla or Cassia or whatever, but there is absolutely nothing Genji brings to the table, barring the resets and very niche deflects situation, but that is cheese that doesn’t work and the main problem is he brings very little between E resets and Ws, so he can’t actually bring the enemy team to the point where resets happen.
Plus, with how incredibly resilient bruisers are, you basically become a backline harasser… But why not pick Zera who can start / finish kills AND contribute AND soak AND is as safe to play as Genji (if not more). OK, you don’t get the fancy resets, but who cares…
Genji needs a rework or at least a buff to his baseline. With Genji, you have to work hard and be competent to produce “mediocre” results.
I agree that Genji needs maybe a little bit support, but what you’re saying that’s wrong. Genji is diver/pvp specialist, I would consider him, if I need hard dive on squishy targets and we have enough wave clear (his weakness).
That’s a good point though. Only bonus Genji has against Zeratul is that he is mid-ranged, not melee…
That’s a matter of numbers balance not problem with the kit or design (if we even assume there IS a problem). I said that his design is excellent, not that he’s op or anything along those lines.
Also, I wouldn’t even say he’s weak, he’s just a bit niche atm with numbers he has (he’s can still be extremely oppressive in certain draft situations). Usually you’d just be better off with a zeratul to do the same thing as genji, so I would give him a very slight numbers buff on something, but definitely not much. It’s very easy to push genji into the broken op territory even with a “moderate” buff. But definitely stay away from his kit - it’s excellent and doesn’t need to change (well ok, I would allow adding new unique situational talents that would not interfere with current version of genji, but just add to it; the lvl16 in particular seems lacking a choice, especially when deflect is not a viable option (usually the case); although I don’t see it as really needed, he’s still got plenty of variety in his builds, just need to equalize their power levels a bit for some talents).
If I had the job of slightly buffing genji, I would do it strictly through the lvl4 talents - I think that’s where you get the biggest gameplay split for genji, so bringing more power into here would help the different genji’s feel even more different. Buff the damage bonus of shuriken, remove delay on dash damage ± increase added damage and for dragon claw, reduce the deflect damage needed (the damage is high enough for sure, it’s just very unrealistic to charge it with a single deflect, unless you’re taking huge hero hits on purpose). I would also slighly buff the lvl13 dash talent, as I just feel it’s not doing what it should be doing (allowing infinite dash plays - 4 heroes lined up is just too much; i’d say lower it down to 3 hero hits putting it on 1.5 second cd (3->3.5 sec buff)). And then maybe devise a totally new lvl16 talent to spice things up a bit for the boring talent tier (most folks do have 4 choices, while genji practically has only 2 and 1 variation).
As a Hanzo Noob, AA build is also my endorsed build of choice!
