Since I don't see Grommash Hellscream since launch

How about a Grommash Hellscream skin for Garrosh, including new voice lines. Some people say he is too much like Garrosh and some just don’t know, but I mean Grommash Hellscream has really been a character I really want and haven’t see one sign of him coming, so I guess make a skin would be nice. I mean he looked cool in WoW:Draenor and come on I just bought the book “Rise of the Horde” and he’s on the cover. I just want to be Grommash or a skin

Turning one of the most requested heroes since alpha into a skin is self suicide. Grom is arguably the strongest card of the developer team at the moment. Besides, his fantasy nowhere close to Garrosh and his tank kit. Grom is a fast and wild berserker, not a counter-attack tank.

Defintely NO. This guy deserves to be a hero more than %90 of the current roster. He is the hero of old school Warcraft orc fans. New generation won’t know but oldies will know what i mean. If they make him a skin, my all remaining respect for dev team will be lost to be honest. There is a hardcore fan army waiting for him for years.

Grom is definitely one of the popular hero requests. But the devs have a very long list of popular heroes to get through as well as other things to consider (such as role and universe). Keep in mind there are still plenty of heroes people want/expect by now yet they aren’t in the game either, like mannoroth or mengsk or baal.

I say Grom is very much a possibility. In fact, I think the reason they made garrosh a tank was to have design space for Grom when he finally hits.

Seems like the distinction will be more apparent if Grommash is introduced into the game as a bruiser instead. Or a melee assassins. We could always use more melee heroes. He just needs, imo, different walking/moving/attacking animations with distinguishable features (e.g. Azmodan’s horns, Kerrigan’s wings, Kel’thuzad’s robe)

Great comment. I think so too. There are MANY characters still in need to be added -and Grom is one of them. And I also think they made Garrosh more of a tank - against many thoughts and speculations - to give space for grom.

Definitely not the strongest. From a race perspective, his model is too similar to other heroes already ingame. He would be a bruiser or melee assassin, sure, but there are far better heroes yet to be added that could bring better mechanics and style into the game, and just as popular as Garrosh is.

To mention some of them: Arcturus Mengsk (so much possibilities with this mad lad), Reinhardt (Winston or Orisa as an OW main tank alternative), D2 or possibly D4 druid (Hamuul if they want feral druid from Warcraft), Lilith…

Then, you also have Cairne as a W3 warrior alternative to Grom. This dude is a Horde founder, and just as requested and (almost) as important as Grom. Not to mention we dont have a real Tauren, but we have 5 orks already.

As it said,Grommash will be showed with a new design/model and concept not like a blade master or fury warrior or Axe man,he is a berserker,I haven’t seen hero similar him in the game yet,he will be a nice option for long time fight, has Aoe damage and also a good stability with his Enrage,in really he is a combine of Tank and Bruiser and will be a new model of a warrior.

Cairne is not a alternative for Grom at all,and also existence 6 orc characters in a game must not forbidden us for having a new one.

If you say this because of the limited number of new heroes, have to say that this is not a serious problem actually.

Rest assured that the right characters will be added to the game sooner or later, and the current limitations for making a new hero will soon be removed.I dont mention Grommash solo, every potential hero will be added to game like Cairne,Reinhardt,Vashj and etc.

In my opinion, it’s not impossible for him to be distinct model wise. He can differ from Garrosh and Thrall (the only orcs I recall being in the game) by quite a margin. Thrall has a distinct running animations and his hammer is quite significant to his model. Garrosh has more of a “towering” posture as he walks as well as those 2 ornamental tusks he uses as shoulder pads, not to mention the axe he carries.

Grommash can perhaps have a different walking animation. Maybe he sort of shift his shoulders as he walks, maybe he can lower his back a little when moving, or maybe he can spin/swing his weapon as he walks. Heck, maybe you can give him a very distinguishable weapon, kinda like Johanna’s shield. Model-wise, I’m not very familiar with WC classes and their respective iconic looks. But i think they should avoid the tusk shoulder pads for his model if they want to differentiate him from Garrosh.

Yes, he has a place in hots. I love W3, it was one of my childhood games alongside AoE and a couple more. Gromm was great character.

He would best be made as a Berseker as someone mentioned above. But, when adding a hero the some question should be made:
What brings to the roster? What role needs to be filled? (Right now, we could have more variety in main tanks and melee assassins, with healer as a close 3rd) Does the new hero fill forgotten lore?

I could see him as a melee highly offensive assassin, with average mobility, some kind of enrage mechanic, self sustain. “The Guldan of melee”.

But again, there could be much better additions before adding Grom (who I belive, should be in the game, but not yet).

We still need representation from Talon from Overwatch, a main tank from the same game, either a druid or Lilith with the new Diablo to name a few. Then you have Arcturus, far more important to Blizzard company, who can bring new interesting mechanics with some imaagination in it. He could bring an old Specialist vibe to the game that most people still love, now that the HGC is done.

My point is, everyone has a favourite (mine is mercy, and I didnt mentioned her yet), but being biased about new heroes is a mistaken path.

EDIT: regarding the original OP, I hope he wont be a Skin for Garrosh, but aa hero of his own. Just give some time.

Absolutely. But that’s something for the devs to sort out. All the stuff about roles and how unique a kit is and such. It’s perfectly fine for players to want certain heroes. Besides, player demand does dictate who makes it to some extent.

Blizz has been pretty good about pushing highly requested heroes these past few years.

Let’s make some things clear:

  1. Grom’s appearance is not any close to any Orc characters in the game. He got skin color difference (same tone as Hellhammer Thrall skin), he has lean and athlethic type body unlike Garrosh’s hunch and bulky build, he got unique savage/barbaric armor unlike any Orc characters in the game, let’s not forget his unique and popular hairstyle, he carry his axe with two handed grip unlike Garrosh and runs faster, he got unique Warsong banner on back.

  2. Some of you guys mentioned about “new stuff” but sometimes you need to release generic type heroes too. For example Sonya and Varian. These guys are generic warriors but god damn fun to play. Being fun > being different

  3. He represents berserker role probably and we got only 1 berserker in the game and it’s The Butcher. I think he will be a good alternative.

Basically people should take a break for “oh let’s get something new always” idea sometimes. Alternatives for the existing characters are also needed.
