Salt mines removed

It takes two to tango, and most forum regulars were well aware of the fate of “The Level 100 Club”, mega thread, so were cautious about creating any contention that might result in a thread’s deletion.

People should have posted in the spirit of why the Salt Mines were made in the first place; no accountability venting, it was a fun thread, not a place where you demand replays etc.

Like the “Level 100 Club”, The Salt Mines should have been the last thread where heated arguments should occur.

That’s what I told Minky. It was a poor moderator job. And the people who were breaking the rules didn’t even get punished. Instead, the mod decided to punish everyone and the forum, because that thread definitely helped people vent some frustrations and learn, plus I definitely saw less minor complaint threads being made since I created the salt mines.

Honestly? It just feels like Blizzard doesn’t care if something is good or bad for the games, forums, community, playerbase. They just punish everyone and that’s it, like we see with their report system.

I honestly don’t feel like playing hots or any Blizzard games anymore after that.

Well, that’s news to me. The deleted posts that I know of at least came before yours, not after. I’d already left the thread for the night before yours too, so if there were supposedly posts that came after, it certainly didn’t come from me. And considering the last thing I saw from Blast was good bye friend, it probably didn’t come from him either.

I’m replying to you this once only, as I have already told you I have you on ignore.

I see what you’re trying to suggest here, and I won’t stand for it.

I didn’t get into any arguments in that thread, as I knew exactly what that thread was for, free venting, with no accountability. You were one of the people always asking for “proof of claims”, which was not in the spirit of the thread.

I do regret replying to you in a completely different thread, but to make sure there is no confusion, I did not argue with you or anyone in The Salt Mines.

As I said, I won’t reply to you a second time, but I’m not going to let you again attribute and project on to me words, thoughts or actions that I never wrote, thought or did.

Please, just put me on ignore, as I already told you, I want no interaction with you again.

Clarifying that deleted posts that I know of came before yours and that I’d already gone for the night has zero implication on you. As if anyone would believe that you of all people were somehow getting into a troll war. It’s utterly preposterous. Your mind sometimes goes to places to connect things to yourself when there is none.

You made a point to Blast about how post number in a thread doesn’t necessarily mean much by itself, twisting that to think that might mean something more malicious is strange. I would hardly call that an argument.

It’s not surprising people are making the whole thing bigger than it was. Clearly, something really awful must have happened for such a big thread in the community to be removed. An epic multiuser clash with barbs and slings! Sorry to report, it wasn’t, at least by the time I’d stopped posting. Though Blast probably crossed a line, the exchange was relatively short as I extricated myself from it going any further.

I almost never asked for proof of claims, as I said, I rarely posted there in the first place. And the times I did, it was either harmless fluff or offering a different view point. I made a rhetorical argument for Dreyda that if we were to parse his replays, we might find something different from his claims of snowballs, but that’s pretty much it. Another “bulk” of my posts were to criticize Grim for intentionally throwing a game.

I haven’t ignored anyone on the forums, so sorry, you’re not going to be the first. And especially what you’re doing here, spreading misinformation, I’m gonna call you out on it.

Salt Mines has been taken out of the map rotation and will eventually return™.

Grim said in another thread it was his fault, but as I wasn’t there, I can’t say. The mods are bad, but seldom remove posts for no reason. As you said, one person breaking a rule is unlikely to result in a thread being deleted or locked.

LoL. Though perhaps a not too far off reflection on me, I would normally have been asleep/be sleeping if I wasn’t in the midst of a kidney stone attack. So I guess we can all sigh with a relief that I’m being punished in some manner.

Please just stop.

I’m not going to do that.

As I said to you, I think it’s admirable that you have taken responsibility for your part in this. I won’t argue with you about assigning blame, there is enough of that to go around and in the end, it won’t restore the thread.

Chill bro, its just a thread at the end of the day. It happens.

Then we make a new one, like I said, its just a thread that is meant to clump up salt posts, nothing stops from its recreation as long as it stays on the rules like last time.

Speaking of recreation.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Stuff happens. Threads shut down. I contributed a bit to it shutting down in getting into at least one disagreement on there that had I “read the room” so to speak would have avoided engaging in a discussion that I would have otherwise avoided.

Years back I got into an argument–pretty sure I was way deep into the bottle–that makes me wince every time I look back but refuse to delete or set my account to private to hide as it is a reminder that I had an idiot attack back then.

Some of the CS staff are also regular posters. The foxes are in charge of the hen house as they say. They have no qualms with moderations that happen purely for their own entertainment.

:man_shrugging:

We had a disagreement. That sort of thing happens. People with differing opinions, lives, upbringings, and so and so forth will naturally butt heads against one another. I hold no ill against you for what we wrote towards one another.

I should have handled it far better than I did. Instead, I let my emotions get the better of me and I became the same ugly little monster that I was all those years ago in throwing out past accomplishments that no one cares and had little to no context with the discussion which added fuel to the fire. For that, I apologize in getting us both riled up in in the Salt Mines thread.

Its cute how desperate you are to discredit what I say. Ad hominem is your best friend.

You’re missing the point entirely though, as always. It isn’t the first time you have gone into the salt mines and started criticizing others about their experiences. Last time I remember it was Phaseshifter. You have a bad habit of calling out people and throwing criticism, insults, and then when you get called out about your actions, you hide and deflect yourself from any blame.

Your conduct here on this forum makes others not want to interact with you. Sure, you’ve had posts where you haven’t gotten into heated arguments, but you’ve also had quite a few that have gotten there because of your bad habits that you fail to admit.

Just put them on ignore.

Their only purpose is to flame bait you into getting moderated.

The foxes watch the hen house here. Its why they applied for the job.
