Every time I play Lunara, I either pick Let Them Wither or Spell Shield on 13. The former if I can take it, the latter… If I need to survive hard-engaging, or ults like Pyroblast. But there is always this one talent at this level. The one I picked like 3 times on my Lun, that’s around lvl 150 right now.
It’s not bad talent per se. Can save lifes of my teammates against frog Naz or well-casted Poison Nova, but it has the same issue as old Lunara - cannot compete with other talents on it’s level. And the issue is even more serious here, as one can live without Galloping Gait, but I can hardly imagine playing without either Let Them Wither or GSS.
Just checked Hotslogs. It has around 3% of popularity on both QM and SL, but still it’s quite useful talent. I think it should be either merged with her talent, or be available under ‘1’.

Lunara’s problem is that she’s Lunara.
Cleanse is very strong on any hero but the whole reason 99% of players pick her is to take advantage of her D talents at 16/20, which Let Them Wither/Endless Spores plays perfectly into, as well as compensating for your general lack of CC as a squishy medium-ranged hero with no escapes aside from baseline movespeed/ult.
Also Greater Spell Shield is probably the second best non-storm talent magic shield in the game, competing with Tychus’s Neosteel Coating. It’s excellent at keeping you alive through burst which you can really suffer against. If you need to flex this is generally what you want instead of a cleanse.
Abolish is actually really strong over regular Cleanses because it not only Cleanses the target, but you as well, and removes dots, and halves the duration of further harmful effects. All while being on a 30 second cooldown.
The problem with that is as Lunara that’s not usually enough to help you live through focus. It can be very useful in a number of situations but it just feels very against her priorities and the result can massively vary depending on how well the rest of your team is playing.
This ability would be insane on any healer but it just doesn’t have the same impact on a gimmicky ranged assassin.
If you wanted to change it’s tier or make it baseline it would need some severe nerfs, because it’s worthy of 13 as it is now.
But even then that would be a pretty strong buff.
I don’t think current Lunara require any adjustments, aside the Abolish Magic. And for the reasons I mentioned above. Her kit is strong, has everything she needs and is capable of adjusting her playstyle to various situation. There is just this single, dead talent I’d like to make somehow more useful. It’s good talent, but not as option to strip Lun off of Let Them Wither or GSS.
The most severe problem I have when I’m using this talent is the fact, that as Lun I’m usually focused on dealing damage. Abolish makes me looking for potential saves in my team, distracting me from dealing damage or avoiding enemy skillshots. Abolish Magic should not be something you think and use on regular basis, but rather a last-resort mean to save yourself/somebody one gets a reminder about 2-3 seconds before somebody die.
I guess Blizz implemented this talent just as translation of her anti-magic abilities from W3, but while it works briliantly in W3, it has little usage in HotS. But apparently Blizz still want it to stay. I would make it baseline, with higher cooldown. Even something like 60-70 seconds. It should not be one of her core mechanics, but rather situational tool to help countering highly CC-oriented teams. Would work well in QM and bad drafts involving people picking 3 mages against CC-focused teams.
