Maybe, just maybe, people posting on the forum aren’t talking to you directly and someone else can post a well thought out response.
Or if it’s just dumb stuff the community has answered time and time again maybe it can be ignored.

Downvotes did nothing, literally nothing. I havent seen a single poster here that can tell me what was actually wrong with downvotes.
You got downvoted, so what? Downvoting didnt delet your post. It didnt prevent you from posting in the future. There is literally nothing that downvotes ever did to a poster other than maybe hurt their feelings.
Can you give at least one reason why you are against it?
Again you make it sound like downvotes somehow prevent someone to post a well thought out response. That was never true. There was literally no downside to downvotes.

Here’s at least one person essentially saying downvotes enable their laziness. I don’t see a massive distinction between enabling laziness and preventing a post that would take more effort. It’s a crutch.

Still no answer. If he doesnt have the time to post, he also wont post if he cant downvote. So in what way did it benefit you that he couldnt downvote? Or the other way around, in what way does it hurt you if he can downvote you?

dowvoting is literally saying something. It’s just saying “i disagree” without having to meaningless type out “i disagree” everywhere.
With what? My username? My avatar? My grammar? My spelling? I disagree isn’t much of a contribution either. " I disagree." Also happens to fall under twenty characters. Which you can’t do.

Depends? What are we talking about? Running countries? Filming movies? If I was Directing a movie and the cast started to vote on which scenes we should include I probably wouldn’t be too pleased about it.
let me ask you this. if you are against downvotes because it promotes people to not get involved in the discussion than why do we have upvotes?
If the cast hasnt any actual power where is the problem? Wouldnt it be interesting to know if your cast dislikes some of the scenes?
