Possible RTX 5080 crash bug?

<BlizzardError.Summary> ACCESS_VIOLATION reading from 0x000001EDCAF20000: DBG-OPTIONS DBG-ADDR<00007FFCF1D84298>(“”) ← DBG-ADDR<00007FFCF1D8EB33>(“”) ← DBG-ADDR<00007FFCF1E4FDA2>(“”) DBG-OPTIONS<>
ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)

Getting this error in the logs and a visual “Unexpected Fatal Error” when trying to play with new 5080. All other games seem stable. Not sure what cause is.

When you get a chance can you go to your documents and check the logs and verify that the crash log in the folder reads the same as the one I’ve posted?

Should be this path:
C:\Users\username\Documents\Heroes of the Storm\GameLogs\2025-02-02 00.46.53 MY-PC B93613 Crash

I was also getting the same access violation error when i loaded into every match of hots. Turning my GPU’s pcie slot to PCIe Gen 4 in bios seemed to fix the crash, but i still got one more later in the evening after a game ended. There’s definitely something weird going on with HOTS and the 5080 cards - i have a Gigabyte 5080 Gaming OC in a brand new computer with a 9800x3d

You know what is interesting. We all have 5080’s but we are all on 9800x3d’s…

Hmm

Also Mat1, can you post your log from the “crash.txt” file thats in that same folder. You included the graphics.txt sorry, i didnt specify.

For me, changing to gen4 didn’t help

I can’t add it here. I can send it to you somewhere

I also will add I removed all my overclocks from memory, CPU, and GPU when I changed the PCIe slot to Gen 4 (it seems to be working still). I also have a 9800x3d.

That’s ok just wonder if it has the same section that I posted in my first comment:

"<BlizzardError.Summary> ACCESS_VIOLATION reading from 0x000001EDCAF20000: DBG-OPTIONS DBG-ADDR<00007FFCF1D84298>(“”) ← DBG-ADDR<00007FFCF1D8EB33>(“”) ← DBG-ADDR<00007FFCF1E4FDA2>(“”) DBG-OPTIONS<>
ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)"

I am having the same problem with my new 5090.
Switched from a 3080 - never had that problem before. Couldnt succesfully start a match yet.

i have this:

“<BlizzardError.Summary> ACCESS_VIOLATION reading from 0x000001BA82080030: DBG-OPTIONS DBG-ADDR<00007FF9F69C4298>(”“) ← DBG-ADDR<00007FF9F69CEB33>(”“) ← DBG-ADDR<00007FF9F6A8FDA2>(”“) DBG-OPTIONS<>
ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)”

I also had 3080 before and no errors
what CPU do you have?

Does anyone from Blizzard support still read the forum?

I have the same issue with a tuf 508, ryzen 7 9800x3d on a clean W11 installation. I have tried uninstalling armoury create and setting my PCIe to 4.0. nothing is working…

I have noticed that if I use gpu tweak 3 to alter something, like setting the profile to OC, user or default mode. My GPU delivers around 50% of the max performance in terms of fps in all the benchmarks and games. Changing it back does not help, i have to reinstall Nvidia drivers and not touch gpu tweak again to get the same performance back…

and by the way… reinstalling the drivers make my screen go black permanent, so i have to hard reset my computer… but it works after that… :scream::scream::scream:

Same problem here (german version).

9800x3D and rtx 5800 onward phantom
