Bringing him to open beta release state would have sufficed but this rework is going to pass anyway like the others.
Only thing we can do is to be vocal when someone will try to tassadarise another hero and keep the good memories we had trying to shield someone into shield breaker varian when it was bugged.

As much as I’d prefer he at least got a shield talent somewhere in his tree, these petitions are now pointless. Some were made this morning on reddit too but judging by the votes, people don’t want it.
Unfortunately any revert is not the majority opinion (by a quite wide margin, I think 90% voted to move with full rework).
It’s just pointless now, the change is coming regardless. Just got to live with it.

Protoss aint nothing with thier shields, but for a tempelar to give shields… yeah a building called the shield battery did that not a high temeplar
ok well then give him passive shields like fenix. i mean the whole point of this rework was to make him fit the “theme” of high templar, right? it seems like the “theme” thing is totally selective. where the hell is hallucination, at the very least…
I think they stated that they dont want to litter the map with a lot of heros or summons. Thats why we dont see any new summoner heros

yeah so they’re just making him a boring, generic electricity-themed mage. he had plasma shield because he is protoss. yeah high templars didn’t give shields in starcraft, but giving shields fit the theme of being protoss. it melded the protoss theme and the role of support very well together.
Tassadar is not just any templar.
We never got to see what he could do in SC1 apart from making an hallucination and doing a bigger palestinian strike than tyrael with his ship.
Him giving shields would not be that surprising coming from what was considered the second most powerful thing after adun.

I don’t see Blizzard making any more Hybrids for HotS. They wreak havoc on the match making system.
well it’s a bloody shame. interesting hybrids like tassadar and tyrande are what first got me interested in HotS. they add very unique flavor. butchering these heroes for the sake of the match maker is just a damn shame.

Shields are simply protoss engineering, they cant replenish thier own shields and require a shield battery to do so. Like how a probius has a talent to grant shields on his pylon.
But I get what you mean being Tassadar is space jesus incarnate. Died for your sins so the overmind can ressurect again.
shields regenerated on their own in starcraft, dingus. the shield battery was a meme structure that few ever built
lorewise they needed a engineer to replenish their shields, thats just gameplay
