I’m talking literal newbies. Like game 7 kinda players.
I haven’t played in a couple years, and as of today, it seems that EVERY GAME I play has at least one team absolutely riddled in literal newbies. My account is almost level 400, which aint super high or anything, nor does account level indicate much of the player at all. But why am I being paired with and against people that look like they’ve never played video games in their entire lives?
(As in literally. Not a bash. Actual newbies.)
I’m asking. What happened??? Because this is in normals and in ranked. Just, everyone is a pure newbie. It’s… just not fun, honestly. Every game is free, either for me or for my enemy team cuz I have all the newbies. It’s always one or the other.
…
On second thought, I also notice that if it’s not a newbie, it’s a botter. So I guess that might answer my question? People are buying these accounts, and that’s where all the newbie players are coming from in games where they shouldn’t be newbies?
Time of day. Some of them are probably smurfs or people like me, I just returned to the game a few weeks ago so I made an alternate account to ease back into it before playing this account with every hero unlocked except ones that came out the past two years.
If you havent played for over a year, it considers you a newbie and forces you to play with them for several games before it puts you again with normal players. This is because in a year the game can change quite a bit.
Even if you are level 2000, it realy doesnt care if you were away for a long time.
The game hasn’t really changed minus having to “learn” newer heroes. Talents seem to have gotten reworks, but nothing that changes what characters do. You just relearn who’s good & who’s not, etc. That doesn’t take very long.
But I’ve been returned to Hots for a few weeks now, and the game still pits me with these newbies. I’m thinking that’s just the game now, rather than a certain “bracket” the game is putting me in? Like, maybe a mix of player resurgence plus “veteran accounts” being bought & sold to newbies so they flood every tier of play.
Solo queue is a experience I can’t recommend, I only play when I have a friend It will help you out of the new players faster. Get a better draft and at least you have 1 out of 4 teammates you can trust. If I solo queue I get salty fast
Many here are always willing to play with a returning player as long as they are nice
I think CCL is also doing their part of getting people interested too.
The game is having a shy comeback after its downfall dip in 2019-2020.
I don’t know a good answer to this, maybe but it might not be this way forever.
I can only recommend you have at least a friend with you. You may have a better chance at winning and also not getting yourself down.
Smurfs if they aren’t actively trolling games can’t place below silver 5,
So odds are we are talking newbies here which is a good sign for the game if you ask me.
You are not alone on that topic. 1/5 of my games always has some 1.5 kda player on my team. Already had like 7-8 of those already the past 2 weeks.
Players with 100 or 1000 of games played but still has an average kda of 1.4 on his account just mean he is a troll that feeds every game for his own pleasure.
Yea, for the first time in years we may be actually getting a real flood of real newbies (not smurfs) thanks to those big streamers giving positive publicity to HotS.
And that is definitely not something to complain over even if it leads to a few frustrating learning experiences.
