After youtubing him, not a huge fan of his Q animation. Reminds me of the female kultiran dance. I think itā€™d look better a bit more subdued.

At level 20 he gains a talent called Varianā€™s legacy where he deals more damage; I wish for this talent he pulls his sword out and becomes a melee hero

Imo becoming a melee from ranged is a nerf, so Iā€™d be fine with him using his sword in melee at least after picking that talent. Probably he doesnā€™t use it thanks to his father, fearing the two silhouette would be too similar.

Agreed about the silhouette and i totally understand why blizzard did what they did with his design. But just for that one talent all the way at level 20ā€¦

How about on top of becoming melee and gaining dmg he also gains some HP and like 10 Armor? :grin:

Thatā€™s probably all it is. I believe they didnā€™t give him Fearbreaker because heā€™d appear too similar to another armored support with a hammer, Uther. Shalamayne on his back is purely symbolic. It does look a bit weird, but if anything itā€™s Blizzard locking him down as a priest first and foremost, despite wearing heavier armor. I love his basic attack animation, so I donā€™t really mind the sword staying put.

My one suggestion would be for him to pull it out while in melee, but Iā€™d imagine that would require a significant amount of extra work for all of his animations, as they would have to include a version for everything with the sword on his back, and in his hand.

Itā€™s probably because an animation for him taking the sword off his back, swinging it, then putting it back away looked too awkward and/or took too long compared to his ranged AA (they have to be the same attack speed after all).
