Anduin had the mace by his side during the ceremony at Lionā€™s Rest in Stormwind City after the Argus Campaign.

I donā€™t know how that hammer has any importance in the Nexus though.

I really do not understand the whole sword = ranged healer thing. At least give him a melee move / ult or something. Him being 100% ranged does not make much sense. Interesting kit kinda I guessā€¦

Yeah I would have expected a holy strike kinda thing. Maybe Anduin will always just carry his fatherā€™s sword and not really become a swordsman himself and they did want to portray it even here.

Itā€™s probably to differentiate him from his father as much as possible.

I am all for him being different from his father. But why carry a sword around if you literally do not use it in anyway in the kit. It just makes no sense, kinda urks me. Just 1 melee skill, or a melee ult, or even a melee based trait. But nothing. He literally carrys a sword around that has zero purpose lol. Just is not practical / logical in anyway.

i was commenting on the patchnote description listing a weapon that heā€™s clearly not using in game.

Since he evidently doesnt use the sword at all, could us another weapon based on his description, it kinda begs the question why even use the sword.

pfft, if thereā€™s anything i know about Hots is that varian is the Link of the Nexus and only communicates in grunts and screams.

He didnt say anything in Blizzcon movie so all he has is carbot grunts!

Well, he is a Priest, and in WoW Priests canā€™t even equip swords, so he carries it simply as a decoration to remind him of his Father.

But Anduin specifically Possesses super human strength. Topples a creature much larger than him and turns another into a crater. Seems like heā€™d be pretty adept with it.
