So, after playing this since open beta I have finally installed LoL for the first time ever. been playing it for 2 days now. All thanks to the ppl that reported me just coz they didnt like the way I sometime tend to CAPS instructions (and tell ppl they are being morons 
). Anyways… after getting a MONTH suspension I decided to take a good look at LoL.
None of the bad rumors I heard about it is true. MUCH less toxic players. None feeding (yet) . only 1 afk member in 2 days (Like 1 afk in EVERY HotS game). sometimes players even come to help when I ping. Thats something that never happens in HotS.
I did get yelled at once by some moron but when I explained I was new the others were helpful. I did mute him no need to report anyone.
AND THE BEST feature of all is no doubt the option to vote on “surrender”. not even talking about the so much more balanced games.
Matches length is longer than hots but its not anoying as much as hots. why? bcoz if you are ahead you dont mind coz your winning and if you are behind and think you can still turn it around - you dont mind, and if you are behind and think its lost - you can … SURRENDER and stop wasting time.
I mean sure it is much more simplistic than HotS but since it is then it is very difficult to mess things up in it.
Also something that is very bad and anoying in hots is the sad fact that having 1 terrible player can make the loss… In LoL, thanks to the INDIVIDUAL leveling you are not being pulled back becoz of that one moron that feeds and feeds (or die to minions or w/e).
I can see some very big lines of resemblance between this and LoL and it makes me very sad. This game that started so great and with so much differences between the heroes is slowly turning into LoL and is already a CC -festival that is just not there in LoL.
When will the dev team understand that it is not fun to be chain-CCed to death for 2-5 sec?
So I’m guessing just here to say all that, to wish everyone fun, and thank everyone for some of the really good times I’ve had in the Nexus. (Sadly, 2 of them are shared with the AIs I had in my groups after players went afk…)
No more Rocking the grasslands of the Garden, or the Temples of doom maybe I’ll see you my dear ETC after this silly suspension is over (dont hold your breath tho 
)

League of Legends activates my fight, flight, or freeze response. I can’t express how awful that game is. Never have I seen a game make support such a miserable experience, gimping them the entire game, nerfing supports if they play as mages or off lane, and making sure healing is so minimal there is no reason to have it in that burst assassin riddled game.

If you enjoy league that’s great. Play for a month and you will not come back, with the bigger population will probably enjoy it and will have less of the issues that’s HOTS has. Personally I am not a fan of league (Except surrender option), best of luck with LOL.

now this is why you got reported. not because of writing in caps~ did you really need to call them morons? couldn’t you just play the game and perhaps not insult anybody but try to at least not be so rude towards your team so perhaps they can do better since they’re not being flamed by a toxic person like you?
oh my poor little child wait to start playing ranked and you’ll see the definition of toxicity. you’re new so give it some time and you’ll see the real thing!

Supports in LoL are actually impactful. Before you had traditional supports (enchanters) and tank supports (kill supports). Then post 2014-2015 you see the emergence of mage supports as former mid lane mages were invading support as they weren’t good enough to solo lane against some of the best assassins anymore. Ex: zed destroys Zyra, Morgana and brand.
Pre-2016 you might have argued supports weren’t fun, and in fact I’d have agreed. Support was the least popular role back then. Now though that has changed and jungle is the least desired role.
Through more niches (hots doesn’t like that), players eventually filled in those niches within the role and had a blast! See Senna (marksman/support), pyke (kill support that wasn’t a tank), rakan (special interactions with xayah), and inclusion of mage supports.
Think of the niches we miss here because of “teamwork” oriented reasons: mage/kill supports. Uther would be the closest dive support (rehgar dives but he isn’t tanky) in the game. He’s no Leona.
We don’t have sustain tanks that are hard to kill but do little damage. Heck, we don’t have hypercarries (a niche within all roles, not just support specifically) nor do we have early/mid/late game huge differences between the characters in the first place.

But you did waste time by surrendering a game you could have won if you just bothered to try.
You just bad at playing a game that req more teamplay then any other game made.
But cya. Have fun playing a game full of overpowered heroes that has not been balanced since release and stay in one lane and last hit minions for 30 min.
Oh and jsut wait when you play ranked. Then you will truly see how toxic LOL is compared to Hots. You will get flamed on left and right from keyboard warrior kids who will tell you how trash you are.

“Stupid support, if you can’t stand there and hit them without killing them, just stand there and be useless” was something I was told a few times when I tried to one-space-healing-chick. Was told to never touch the minions, unless I would tab minion super hard and “try to get them low, but make sure the carry isn’t hitting them at the same time”.
So, yeah, I get some bad eggs on here, but the fact LOL has a mechanic such as last hitting, that actually “punishes”, so to speak, your team for… teamwork, baffles me.

Haha this is one of the reasons i stay away from LoL.
Because mechanics like this exist in HotS too, on Azmodan or Rag/Thrall lvl 1 talents and i really hate those heroes/talents.
But there is no getting away from this mechanic on LoL

Just let him play the game. He will see soon enough how big of a toxic game LOL really is. He just played a normal game so far were people might be helpfull, but when he goes into ranked he will see how trash LOL playerbase really is to new people.

He also probably isn’t the appropriate level to be able to play with people in groups. I remember last year I had to get to like level… 5? or 10? I don’t recall, before I could play with friends. So, it might seem less toxic because of no stacks, for that small window.
Tips before you jump into ranked:
- Be level 30
- Learn 2 roles. In ranked you will fill out preferences before queueing. Preferences will actually matter unlike hots. In the rare case (rare as league has more players) you will be auto filled into a role you didn’t prefer
- Play draft pick or blind pick, not ai if you’re really training hard for ranked.
- Don’t be discouraged if you get placed into iron league. I was high plat in 2016 and 2020 when I returned I was now high bronze even after getting used to LoL again. Everyone got mechanically better at all ranks.
- Try to have under 120 ping and high fps
- If playing adc or support, find a duo partner. It can really win the lane if you find a partner you work really well with
If you need specific role tips just ask on reddit or reply to me I guess. I’m not good at the game anymore but it’d be a start to ask me

p.s. the best way to deal with most people in storm league is not talking at all and only using pings
they don’t want advice from 44% winrate golds
