What’s wrong about this not supported game.
what drove you to believe there is a maphack?
There are maphacks from what I know. You can notice it by uncanny cautiousness.
Maphacks get more and more common the higher you go. I heard some of the current top players in EU have unbelievable winrates, so much that suspicion is warranted.
Yes a few. I had few zera using maphacks.
If map hack is now common in most games then its official dead by all game standarts.
Then you will have games were both teams know exactly were enemy is whole game.
I had a game other week where I suspected opponents had maphacks.
Opponents were getting the bottom knights camp on dragonshire and I apparoached the lefthandside bush as Zera.
The lane was pushed with none of their minions around and as I approached the bush enemy skillshots were aimed at it/me including li ming orbs and stuff, they missed and I was in the bush and no one was there.
Also based on where the skillshots came from and their position when I walked through the bush, no one was in the bush providing vision to me.
They did seem very prepared for Zera throughout the match as in i’d double teleport from somewhere they shouldn’t have had vision and they were all ready for me but I didn’t suspect foul play until that knights camp incident, then it all kind of made sense.
*Edit just to add to this post I remember opposition team being instantly on my booty after a double blink into them from what should have been “fog of war” and a wormhole return.
As of this post I havn’t even looked into how the maphack works but it seems to be being mentioned more and more often, shoch means more and more people will become aware of it and use it.
I honestly don’t know how common map hack is, but you only need to glance over the bug report section of the forum and look at the almost complete lack of blue replies.
I’m not knocking the team who deal with this, they no doubt are given limited time to focus on any bugs concerning Hots. However, the consequences of this inattention means cheating/hacks will probably become more prevalent as time marches on.
The game doesn’t get policed any more by moderators/gamemasters + a lot of high ranks don’t really care about HotS any more = no risk, infinite reward in cheating.
If they get caught, they couldn’t care less if they get banned even if they are Master or higher.
They were going to quit anyway or have been inactive for years.
If they don’t get caught, they enjoy an unfair advantage vs. people who have to play with fog of war enabled.
This is a very common death spiral in competitive games. It’s ultimately cheating that ruins the game completely. Then, as the cheaters don’t get banned, all the honest players simply quit and go play something else.
FPS games are notorious for being overrun with maphackers and aimbotters after they are no longer commercially supported.
It’s far less common in Mobas, but hacks for HotS do exist. Fortunately, the only hack we know of is maphack, but it’s still a very big unfair advantage.
It’s annoying, if it becomes widespread it may ruin the game imo.
They will install map hacks but won’t install map DLC (free map hack provided by Blizzard by looking bottom right).
In all seriousness, they are real, they exist, they are dumb and their skill shows.
I agree. Maybe there are some high ranks willing to risk their account with this, but the most obvious map hackers I’ve seen are still unable to utilize vision to translate into higher win rates.
They are also still unable to look at the minimap like a true good player, so even if they can spot you hiding in a bush, they wont really win any more matches thanks to their little FoW hack.
Really, this isn’t SC2. All this hack is good for is late game Boss ganks (which the hacker can’t pull off alone due to the team oriented nature of HotS) or finding people who are hearthing in bushes to blast with Chromie.
Hardly enough to swing a game if the player sucks otherwise.
I just wanna throw in I faced a Butcher and Kael with suspicious knowledge and interesting and timed command execution for attacks on bushes, have to admit, these people don’t hide it, they are pathetic, and their skill shows in team fights
“Welcome to Team Fortress 2, after six years in abandonment, hopefully it will have been worth the wait.”
Counter Strike aswell. Atleast the 1.5-1.6 version of it.
I still remember me and 4 others was on a netcafe playing CS and faced a aim botter. But fun part was after I managed to get him he leaved the server in rage and we all celebrated.
That’s just them being better than you and having map awareness.
Maphack is easiest to detect when they use a targeted skill on you without vision.
That is suspicious, a Butcher player who knows how to check/attack in bushes? That’s very rare behaviour indeed for the typical Butcher player in my experience, same goes for KT’s.
It’s not even a new thing, it’s just becoming more common, I gather. I remember video from at least 3 years ago showing a Chromie player landing precise skill shots through FOW.
It’s kinda pathetic anyone would cheat at Hots. Even my elderly mother knows no sense of basic satisfaction or accomplishment can be achieved by cheating at solitaire.
Not what I meant, but I know your fragile ego can function only if you can try to drag others down
You’re better off detecting it upon watching a replay. Like when they’d notice a party member is vulnerable when theyve done their best staying in fog of war. Thats arguably more common than when they blindly hit you with skill shots. Sometimes people get hunches and they work. Spending a stun spell to check bushes is also common, especially when theres a good pay off if they were right.
Map awareness does nothing againts map hackers. You only got a fraction of information where they are and what they are up to for a few sec.
Meanwhile the map hackers know your location all the time cause they got a GPS sensor on your whole team telling them your exact location and what you are doing every sec.
Nothing to do about being better than your opponent if you use a hack that gives you all the information you need while enemy is playing in the fog.
