She’s very first Blood Elf Paladin and has an active role in the game. I think she deserves a slot in the nexus.
+1.
A lot of us have been suggesting her for years now.
Yup. Ret Pally poster child
Liadrin is a solid Paly options. Some others can be Turalyon, Maraad, Tirion or Alexandros himself!
I’d go with Prot, so she can use her new sword/shield combo she has in all her art.
I really hope they don’t make her Protection since that’s pretty much Yrel’s niche as a Warrior. I don’t know why they decided to give Liadrin a shield and Yrel just has a hammer…
Anyway, I feel that Retribution is the overall theme of the Blood Knights considering their wrath and desire for revenge. Liadrin is even depicted as Ret in BC and WoD if you examine her skillset.
Regarding weapons, it would be appropriate to give her a [Blood-Tempered Ranseur] considering that’s the weapon she was given upon becoming the first Blood Knight. If not that, perhaps the [Halberd of Smiting] or [Sindorei Warblade] since they look EPIC on a Blood Knight paladin. Maybe even the 2H sword she used in WoW but it looks more like a DK rune weapon imo. In any case, it should be a 2H weapon motif for her since all of those weapons and others would be able to be part of a skin. You could even do something fun like a tribal, troll-like skin wielding [Jin’rohk, The Great Apocalypse] next to Zul’Jin and Nazeebo lol.
Edit: Forgot to mention that they could always multiclass her sort of like Varian. It’d effectively end the dilemma of 2H Retribution or Sword & Board. It’d also allow a lot more classic Paladin abilities to be in the game like Consecration, Crusader Strike, Auras, Buffs, etc
She doesn’t necessarily have to be either Ret or Prot. alone, but a mix of both, considering that she mostly wields Quel’Delar, but now wields a sword and shield.
Good points. However, I still think her over-arching theme should be Retribution. I don’t see any harm in mixing in some other skills outside of Ret but I think it’d be best implemented in a multiclass role as I mentioned before.
As far as the weapons she uses, I really don’t think they care much about her current state considering Yrel is seen with both her hammer & shield and also with just her hammer as she appears in HotS. Same goes for Varian who essentially has 3 weapon sets depending on your talent choices.
If they do multiclass her though, I could see it going something like this:
Retribution: 2 handed weapon, burst damage, self sustain while attacking enemies (the Liadrin I’m hoping for)
Protection: Sword & Board, AoE damage, buffs/debuffs
Holy: She was a priestess prior to becoming a Blood Knight so I could see this being viable but likely won’t be needed because of Uther.
What a great way to classify her!
Thank you! Lady Liadrin is one of my favorite WoW heroes next to Grom Hellscream but everyone probably knows that already lol.
They’ve added most of my favorite wow characters or who i want added., excluding Nesingwary, and D. Mograine at least.
D Mograine would be the best Death Knight example imo.
Arthas is already the best DK example. How do you get more Death Knight than the OG Death Knight?
Arthas is one of the second-gen of DKs. Teron Gorefiend was the prime of the originals, being WoW’s first DK ever. Plus Arthas was converted, partially by pride. Mograine sacrificed himself to save the other paladins during both when he attacked Light’s Hope and defended it as a Paladin.
Tirion Fordring also deserves his place in HOTS!
No, he doesn’t.
He’s just another generic human male paladin. We already got one of those. We don’t need two.
Woah! Tirion was the final true owner of the Ashbringer! He was the Light’s version of Arthas during WotLK.
It would be awesome to see Liadrin in the game!! I did try to make a concept of her, feel free to check it out… sorry (but I dont know anything about her gameplay and etc, i just thought of her as a really cool looking knight, thus i tried my best to create my interpretation of her through the concept…) soo yeah…
He was what happened when Blizzard realized they wanted to keep telling stories with Uther, but couldn’t because they killed him of.
So they made discount Uther to do all the Urthery things Uther would have been doing.
It seems Blizz often writes in characters for a thing or two, then realize they either should have done more with them or didn’t expect them to get wildly popular.
…then we end up with characters like Yrel instead of Vindicator Maraad… -___-
