Hey guys. How are you?
Just like you who still frequent this forum, I am a player who was fascinated by HOTS, which ended up running out of MOBAs after Blizzard threw this game with a lot of potential in the trash.
I had already lost hope with this game, until I saw that they are planning a new patch, after more than a year without news.
That’s when I thought: What if with the Microsoft purchase, they’re not looking at which franchises are worth bringing back? What if this patch is a test like “let’s release a patch and see how many people re-engage. If it’s worth it, we’ll bring it back.”
With this hope I return to this forum after years, to invoke all those dreamers of a return of this MOBA.
Let’s unite and wait for the next patch. Let’s spread the word, make some noise, and call all those who don’t know HOTs to come and see it.
When the new patch comes out, play even if just 1 match. Say something about the game on social media (even if it’s to insult all the mistakes the game had), but make this game’s name rise again.
If we can get Microsoft interested, if we prove to them that this game still has people interested, I believe our chances of the game being revived greatly increase. I know I may be dreaming, but in my opinion, reviving an existing franchise is cheaper than investing in a new one, and companies like money, so why not try to take advantage of it?

They’ve been working on this patch for a while now. This is not MS throwing the bait to see if people bite. This is just the work of a dev with some community members pointing out inconsistencies in the game that should have been fixed long time ago, and no better time than now that the game won’t have many updates to break stuff up.
But hey, some noise never kills.

It doesn’t work like that but you heart is in the right place. Braindead suits who can’t think long term decide whether this game gets a proper revival or a second iteration.

At least this patch has brought hope to the community !
What we know is that we have had three patches since july (this one included), each more important than the previous one. Maybe it is because now that Diablo 4 is released, Blizzard can finally allow some time to HOTS.
Now let’s see the content of those patches. First we have and one mount and one skin, already developped but never added to the game. Then some bug fixes and again, some skins and mounts previously available for a limited time only. And for the one to come, more bug fixes, probably old mounts and skins as well, and - the real deal - a small balance update. Those patches also have been released with regularity: every two monthes, like when the game had a developpement team.
Then what can we reasonabily expect ? More patches in the future I guess, the signal is pretty clear. More old mounts and skins added to the store. Balance updates are now possible as we can see with this third patch.
All those things could possibly mean a Steam release sooner or later, which would be a good thing for the game IMO.
But for now, we haven’t had a sign that the game would be in developpement mode again. No new content has been added to the game, no announcement has been made from Blizzard. So as for a real come back of the game, I have much moderate expectations.
As you, I keep hoping that it will change someday. And I do hope that people from Blizzard know what they’re doing when they give hope to a community that have been already disappointed in the past.
Let’s see if some unexpected surprise pop during the Blizzcon !

Hi, I am making noise! Blizzard/Microsoft…bring some devs back to this game! There is a dedicated community here as your base. With some renewed attention and long term vision this game can be profitable for MS and FUN for the players.
Prior management was trash, but there are people here WAITING for a reason to reengage with Blizzard IP.
Put the client on Steam to bring in some new players, thoughtfully monetize with the shop, throw some support to the existing content creators keeping this alive.

I also love to play this game, for now we just play ARAM.
But we would love to play Ranked, without trolls and AFK.
Also see more content online to watch from others. And SPECCALY the HoTs WTF Moments! I watched all 172 Videos!

I’m glad to see more people getting involved in my mission to try to draw attention to this forgotten game. Unfortunately, in my native language forum, I had almost no engagement.
I saw that it was mentioned that two more patches were released in a short period of time. I had no knowledge of these, as for me, the game was silent until this new one. BTW, does anyone know approximately when this patch will be released? I encouraged some friends who used to play HOTS with me before, and some who want to try it out, to test this new patch as soon as it’s released.
I also know that it may not be a Microsoft bait, but with news coming out that they intend to revive old Blizzard franchises, my hopes of seeing HOTS get another chance are growing. And as we say around here, “it doesn’t hurt to try.”
