So this just happened after like 4 years of playing, I got leaver status cause of my crappy modem drop out and my comp died 2 games in a row… YAY ME… Oh well, crap happens.
But anyways, I don’t understand why do leavers have to WIN a game before they get out of leaver status?
I have played 3 games and lost all 3, I don’t care about losing but our group literally all played well.
But seriously, I don’t understand why losing a game will keep someone in leavers status until you win a game?
Didn’t someone mentioned this before? Sure, that person’s reason may not be Blizz’s stance, but as it did make sense, it wasn’t farfetched to say Blizz made it so with similar reason.
Basically, to prevent players in leaver que to just afk game their way out from it.
Leaver queue requires a win because with losing it could be abused and circumventing.
Ppl are put there to keep normal queues “safer”, if someone is an offender, they should remain there.
If losing would be fine as well, ppl could just afk/throw the game and be “free”.
You left more games for whatever reason in a certain timeframe and now you got your penalty to not leave games and ruining it for others. If you have internet issues, then you didn’t solved your problem first. In both cases you deserve it, deal with it.
You didn’t fixed YOUR problem and ruined 2 games for others? It’s on you. Get a new modem, if it’s too old and causes trouble or accept that you will drop from the game and gets penalty.
The silly thing is, since there is always a winner, you can just AFK anyway and have a 50% chance to win! Unless you drop out, but then you really didn’t put effort anyway.
From my very few matches with leavers that’s the reality of these matches.

Mate, anyone can drop out a game for whatever reason. It could be the ISP, could be the modem, could be a construction work cutting the cable… you never know.

People drop out from games all the time and you think it’s their fault all the time? No… other things can occur.

If someone would drop once this is a non issue, but you already dropped multiple times. Why should I have empathy with someone, who don’t solve this issues and can technically drop any time at random?

At what point did I complain about the leaver status? At what point did my thread stated to hone down on my leaver status? I literally asked 2 questions related to winning a game to get out of leaver status…

And yet you decided to focus the thread on my dropouts and purely blame me and it’s all my fault and everything is going to hell because apparently, I can fix an internet dropout even though I had the same modem for 6 years and this is literally the first time from my knowledge that I couldn’t get back into a game because my modem dropped out… which is unfortunate cause I was in a game at the time…
Also internet drop outs can either be ISP, modem, software and other forms of related interference but hey… not to you, it’s all the players fault and they can fix it…
Yes, you are. You are moaning about this tiny problem like someone, who got banned and want his account back. You can still play the game and this issue will be solved by time.
People already explained 1000 times why this leaver penalty is good, even in this thread and you still refuse to accept it, because you got a hit due to your connection issues.
I don’t blame you, but I just tells you to accept your punishment and move on. There are good reasons why it’s in the game. If I get leaver penalty, because my connection drops I wouldn’t create a topic, but just play until I win and it is solved.
Hasher, I honestly think you already know the answer to your question. If players who left games often were only required to play 3 games without winning, that would be no deterrent for leaving games at all. Keep in mind you don’t receive a leavers penalty for the first two games you leave within a short time span, so this system is very forgiving. If it didn’t require players to win, one side of the leavers queue could just deliberately die to towers or go AFK in base to allow the game to finish in under 7 minutes.
The requirement to win games is a small slap on the wrist and players can quickly clear this in ARAM
In the past, people would troll by leaving games, and since the penalty wasn’t harsh, they could just alt-tab out during their matches, there was no deterrent to those people continuing to troll games. Changing it to requiring wins made it such that those people either wouldn’t just alt-F4 every time they got into a game they didn’t like, or at least were kept out of normal people queues much longer.
I haven’t had leaver status myself, but for friends that have gotten it, they will queue with people who do not have that status, as it will often put them in non-leaver QMs, or just clear it in ARAM.
