Previous 2 seasons was master. Questions:

  • when do you go Iron First and when you should go Insight?
  • when Transcendence is playable? (because mostly it’s impossible to use it right)
  • if you go Insight, what build do you use to get max value from trait?
  • when do you take DP and how to use it right?
  • how to make your team to group up to get healed by W?
  • what totem do you take at 4, when and why?
  • what, when and why you pick X talent at 20 lvl?
  • good/bad maps for Khara?
  • what comps is he good in?

Very nice KDA ratio for a melee healer in plat+.

Do you play Iron Fist with full heal build when solo healing (not dps build) like most khara mains or do you ever take other traits?

Did you ever try to solo boss with blazing fist build + insight in a ranked match?

when do you go Iron First and when you should go Insight?

I mostly go Iron Fist when enemy healer is one of the following: Uther, Tyrande, BW. I also go Iron fist when my team is beefy enough. In case of 1 tank 1 bruiser or 2 tanks I always go Iron Fist.
Oh, and in BOE I always go Iron fist. No matter what. That is a map begging for IF.

when Transcendence is playable? (because mostly it’s impossible to use it right)

Transcendence is great on several setups. I usually go T against teams with more than 2 melee heroes. Reason be is that extra healing negates their sustain damage. Simple. T is also great on maps where it requires you to always punch something close by IE: Infernal Shrines, Alterac, Tomb, Sky, GOT. Remember one key point of Transcendence, the more time you spend punching stuff or heroes the more valuable it gets. So if you chose T then make sure you keep punching as much as possible. (Safely if you can)

if you go Insight, what build do you use to get max value from trait?

Punching stuff is also the key to insight. Although for a different reason. First of all I only go Insight against teams who are not bursty, but heavy on sustained damage. That is so I never run out of mana healing their insane damage over time, and also to recharge healing faster. It is a really game changer vs sustain damage teams trust me. My talent choices in this instance are usually: 4- Earth Ally 7-Heavenly Zeal 10-Palm (SSS good option too) 13-Spell Shield (my go to talent at 13 in all instances for one major reason. It helps me punch longer. It provides enough protection for me to stay longer in fights and keep punching) 16- Echo of Heaven (This one’s a killer against heroes with damage over time such as Guldan, Naz, Xul, Blaze, Lunara) 20- Storm shield (Basically a cluch ability. Better than healing on team fights especially late game)

when do you take DP and how to use it right?

DP is great against stun lock comps. Or ambush comps. Or against organized combos. Feels great when enemy team spends several skills to isolate and kill an ally only for me to cancel all that. And the best part of DP? In my opinion its cool down is too low for its value. I am amazed how such ability has such a low CD, or maybe I’m just good at landing them. Also pay attention to your teammates tendency early game. If you see carelessness then maybe take DP to kind of save their asses later when death matters.

how to make your team to group up to get healed by W?

Knowing its range of effect is your best asset. That allows you to actually take care of it. In team fights usually allies won’t think about maximizing your heal. You do. And sometimes when team is scattered you have to decide which pair of allies needs healing the most. As a rule of thumb I prioritize melee assassins over ranged, and tanks over ranged assassins. Reason? The longer I keep the tank in the fight the more he can keep our assassins in the game doing damage. But I usually save my palms for assassins though.

what totem do you take at 4, when and why?

Eath Ally almost exclusively. You will always have a formidable AA attacker on the enemy team. Even mages although slow in speed can have powerful AA such as Orphea for instance, or Chromie, or even tanks such as ETC

what, when and why you pick X talent at 20 lvl?

I mostly pick Storm Shield. One of the most clutch abilities in a team fight. A no brainer especially against AOEs or against an equally skilled enemy. I usually pick other 20 talents if we are clearly winning. Or sometimes the SSS upgrade on beefy teams.

good/bad maps for Khara?

BOE is a no brainer Khara map for me. As I said before the more you punch the better value out of Khara. Infernal Shrines is another great map. Alterac is good too. GOT and Sky, and even TOD. If a map helps you punch a lot through objective then Khara is always a good option.

what comps is he good in?

Dive comps are some of my best experiences. Also since Khara lacks hard CC make sure your team makes up for it. If your team lacks hard CC then choosing Khara is a liability.

what heroes do counter him?

Anyone with roots or hard CCs. A good Malf vs Khara is a nightmare. Roots are his weakness for the simple fact that they don’t allow you to punch. Stupid reason right? But trust me punching with Khara is a must. Xul is a nightmare. Johanna and ETC is great against Khara. They can constantly stop him on his tracks. Interrupting the voley of blows is so annoying for a Khara.

Do you play Iron Fist with full heal build when solo healing (not dps build) like most khara mains or do you ever take other traits?

Did you ever try to solo boss with blazing fist build + insight in a ranked match?

When I play Iron fist I go full DPS except for ultimate. I go palm almost always. I want to have a clutch ace up my sleeve if I or any teammate runs out of HP. A good DP is always a game changer.

I take other traits often. I like to be flexible and adjust to enemy comps. I have equal success rate with all my traits.

Yes I have tried solo bossing lol. But only in one sided matches. Or when team was wiped out and my sense of map awareness detects that enemy is on the other side of map. And honestly who would expect enemy healer soloing the boss to be aware enough and check it?

Funny why aren’t your healing numbers posted ?

It would seem that you’re taking a healer spot but playing assassin

How many games played per season over how many seasons ?
I mean if you play 500 games a season 60% is impressive if you play 25 games its who cares ?

Because Kharazim heals less then a Lucio or Alexstrasza
If you are diving in with a Tyrael, and greymane you only heal those 2
And like any match, one thing that isnt consistent are numbers. Match can take 15 min or 25 min

Healing numbers vary per game. I’d expect that to be common knowledge.
When I play a healer I heal. If I want to be an assassin I have a lot other better options to pick. So clearly healing is my priority.
I play without stimpak. So in total I think I have around 400 games with Kharazim. 300 or more of those ranked. As far as impressive goes you’re free to chose as you please.
If you think you can get close to my numbers with Kharazim in High plat-Master then good for you.

What is the colour of night?!

Can you share your builds?
I’ve been meaning to expand on my healer roles and I’ve been playing a lot more Malf but whenever I bring Khara in QM I get flamed by my team for sucking.

I’m not home to share the builds with codes right now, but I’ll do it later for you

The wonderful thing about Kharazim is that the different builds play quite differently. I don’t really think there are bad talents for Kharazim. The only exception are perhaps talents that require a little more skill and timing if you are not good at that.

I would say the biggest error when it comes to Kharazim is simply being too twitchy with your heal. If you can spend another 1-2 seconds to reposition if the situation is not lethal to give your heal more value, then do so.

So with that comes your ability to quickly move around the battlefield so you have to be be very aware of how many dashes you have left, and when possible keeping up your trait to get movement speed. An easy way to get more value is also to realize that you should be somewhat aggressive to never be at full health which helps get value on your trait and know that your heal will get that +1 target with a self heal.

The rest is just finding that sweet spot of punching too much and not punching enough, and that often has to do with what trait you got. What allows for Kharazim to get such high KDAs is his ability to dive offensively with your other heroes and finish people off. So you also have to be aware of kill windows that will constantly pop up, but at the same time, you aren’t trying to create them yourself at the expense of using up all your heals on yourself and ignoring your allies or backline.

Yeah I just tried IF twice and it’s crazy how much harder you hit.

What about his 16 talents?
Cleanses are nice in every form but in what matchups do you want to take Way of the Hundred Fists?
And do you only want Echo if you took Heavenly Zeal?

Can you post some your replays?

Sure. When I get some free time I’ll post it here

They all honestly work. But like with all cleanses, if you suck at the timing of them, you might just be better skipping them. They’re way overrated if you’re not landing them consistently or in some cases proactively. If the enemy team has a single target death combo, it’s a great choice. If you’re next level, you can also empower your own team’s combos to be unstoppable. But like I said, it’s not for everyone and there’s no point trying to pretend you’re a pro if you’re not.

I personally get Echo of Heaven almost always unless I’m playing double support, but Hundred Fists really does work too, you just have to be confident in your backline to not die if you went Iron Fists. If you went Insight, it doesn’t really matter because you can just zip back and forth constantly because your CDs will be constantly up.

What region do you play in

I know you already explained some different cases for Transcendence vs Insight. However, they still feel like they overlap a little.

If Kharazim were ever to be reworked, I think Insight could work as a baseline quest with some nerfs. However, I don’t have a good idea for a replacement level 1 talent. What do you feel could be a competitive addition to Kharazim, without overlap, and would fit with his theme or kit?

Also, do you feel that his last mini-rework of talents was good?

It doesn’t overlap at all in fact. Only your purpose needs to be clear. I take Transcendence for the small heals every 3rd AA. Insight for the mana and CD reduction. Totally different purposes. The only thing in common is you have to keep punching stuff to get the best out of both. But that is the same for all his traits so they can work. All of them are viable, but you have to pick the right situation to do so. And always look to punch stuff. In Iron Fist case you don’t have to punch stuff all the time, and you have to be more careful with your engages.

I know that. It’s just that CDR and Mana refund allow you to heal more overtime, in a similar way as free heal procs from Transcendence. That part is overlapped. Obviously Insight benefits the other abilities as well, more DR uptime and dashes. Maybe you could answer this little bit of nuance left out of your earlier post: Are those Transcendence Procs mainly used for you or allies?

Anyway your thoughts about his Talents? Better before this last mini-rework or after? Any weak talents or changes you would want?
