You absolutely are selfish. You want you to play your game solo but you can’t conceive of how others play the game, and don’t mind that a game mode dies for a game that is ultimately a TEAM game.
I mostly solo, but I’m not going to throw a pouty hissy fit if someone plays together. How dare they have friends and enjoy their time together, the absolute hideous antisocial behavior. And don’t even get me started when I’m grouped with them and have fun to play against other groups!!!
People who want to be perpetual victims and blame their games on losses have always existed. The truth is, solo players, and you do too, still win against groups. It’s just weak minded people just seek confirmation bias and can’t imagine that groups can both be good and bad and just scapegoat their enjoyment of the game on other people having friends, it’s frankly kind of sad.
I don’t see any problem in it, let them play with friends, who forbids them - let them make a separate queue for them, or at least starting with a group of 3.
I think it will be fair, given that 90-95% of other players will be happy, which in itself can not be selfishness, but rather a good thing. Simple logical conclusion.
We always play against other groups or 2+3. I don’t think we’ve ever had a game against all randoms. Plus, because smurfing masters group to play, groups are more likely to play against them (Which happened to us quite often) than solo players.
Also, how many people create threads to complain is irrelevant of whether something is true or not. The game has always put groups against other groups when possible.
If you don’t care about any data but that which supports your claim, it means you’re biased and therefore have no credibility. And then no one has any reason to take what you say seriously.
It’s already that way!!!
It makese sense, except we don’t know what the stats are.
Find people who don’t afk or troll and play with them instead. You won’t win every game, but you won’t be as frustrated.
I get you’re implying that groups are more likely to face groups but speaking about the existing mechanics and ignoring their limitations currently in place is disingenuous and pandering for internet points. Honestly, it’s just dumb.
Blizzard had a clear path and development roadmap how they want to ruin the game. Merging TL and HL into SL was one of the items. They also delivered other items as planned.
Since the game doesn’t receive updates and they also don’t have developers who could remove it from the launcher, expect it to be always like it currently is until Microsofts decides to not pay the server costs anymore.
remind me why you go around to dead forums to spout badly thought out conspiracy theroes?
Typically people are here to play the game and talk about it, possibly vent when people get frustrating, but it seems an award expenditure, to me, to not do something novel — like HoH — if you going to prattle demonstrably wrong claims, bad assumptions, and otherwise not remotely offer some positive contribution with your fleeting existence.
The game is a passion project; they don’t go “ruining it by design”.
Checking a box to do something the game is already doing except when it can’t, would be pointless.
You check the box, the game won’t find enough players to make you play solo only, so you go to extended search ,and you play against the same teams as you would if that option didn’t exist.
So it’s moot. You would be in the exact same situation you are now. I thought that was obvious.
And that’s beside asking to add a feature in a game where nothing new can be added.
Problem is some groupes dont want fair games. They just want to faceroll every random groupe they face. Why you think so many 3k mmr groupes only camps in QM instead of playing ranked ?
The difference is that the point of the box is to prevent expanding search criteria so that players can choose whether they’d prefer to have fast games or fair games. I recall when blizzard was trying to address this issue, there were people who wanted fast games and people who were willing to wait longer for more evenly matched games.
Whether it is practical, especially given the state of HotS is moot. The point is that some players would prefer not to have the extended search at all and there is no feature to opt out of extended queue. I thought that was obvious.
Extended search means the game can’t achieve the ideal parameters, so it will give you a game outside of it. Once it hits extended search, it would be no longer able to match you against solo only players.
So yes, you would wait longer, but you wouldn’t get what you want.
I don’t think you understand how it works. It’s not on the solo player’s side, it’s on the team of 3-4 or 5’s side. If the game can’t find a team of the same size and rank to match them with, then it will go to extended search and put them in your games. So you will play against them as often as now, because the system is already doing that.
They were never willing to allow that. You cannot opt out of extended queue because the game doesn’t want you to be able to do it.
They are fully aware that people are dumb, and that even if they checked a box, they will still get impatient and complain that it takes too long. The ONE thing they don’t want is for players to stop playing, and waiting makes people quit. Yes, even if they opted in.
Like when comps were enforced in QM, and they changed it back in less than a week!
If you and Tentasion were right, unranked draft would still be playable.
Quick Match should continue to be the not serious fast queue mode (as the name suggests). I think the opposite should happen, in ranked, players should be required to find a team before queuing up. There should be no solo or partial party queue in ranked.
I believe gameplay first was one of their core principles pre 2010. SC2 was first to introduce this kind of matchmaking so essentially team games were dead on arrival which probably explains how a pixel horse in wow made more money than a single beloved franchise altogether.
Then you never had a point, because I think everyone understood exactly what I meant except you, assuming you weren’t just pretending not to get it. I replied against my better judgement, because as I originally thought, this discussion is a waste of time. I now remove myself from it. I really don’t care for your constant sarcastic tone, so on the ignore list you go. You may invest time writing a reply if you will, but be aware I’ll never see it.
Related. That’s so funny and sarcastic, I don’t even know what to say to that. In today’s world, if a company is operating at this level - it just can’t be, or it wouldn’t have gotten in.
More and more I think that Blizzard got what it deserved. OR the whole company was held together by a couple of founding fathers who knew what they were doing and who, by the way, were toxic, harsh in their statements, and sexist.
It’s amazing that those people were able to do well, and the femenist crowd at Blizzard can’t.
It should NOT work just like LFR and Mythic+ in WoW, cause these games are not in the moba genre. It should rather work like Dota 2 or LOL
