If these forums were a place, what would it look like?

A golden palace in the jungle? A dusty library in the desert? Or maybe something weird like an oil rig in the ocean during a storm?

A restaurant with a menu of so many choices but you are unable to decide which one is your favorite.

It depends on the topic but overall,

Let’s call it a lush garden with a fountain in the middle where peons, nobles, and newcomers congregate to discuss the majestic empire that was, and what could have been. Eroded concrete and marble buildings that seem to reach the sky are in the back ground, but they are eroded, shattered, and crumbling. Their dust clouds the bright sun that once shined on us.

We are huddled in our oasis to ponder how our beloved kingdom has fallen, what to make of it’s ruins that lay among us, and where we of from here.

If you count the 8-9 years that both old and new forum have been then its a jungle.

A multi-layered club with different gangs on each floor that constantly bicker with each other for no reason other than entertainment

A bridge with trolls underneath and regular members on top.

It would be the Library of Alexandria… in his current condition.

A shanty town of depression, that only the rich would fine charming but wouldn’t dare to live here.

Luxury in decay, it’s the wreck of the Titanic, dark and cold, with reminders of past glories scattered around the now empty rooms.

Occasionally we receive visitors, bringing welcome light to the gloom, patches and bug fixes, and then they depart.

Rumors are, some still gather near at the remains of the Grand Staircase where Leo Andiun waits in his tuxedo with his hand extended to welcome the old, the new and the lost, each and every midnight.

It would look exactly like Warhead Junction.

Things aren’t that grim, Hoku!

A pub. Not just any pub, but one that requires prying the directions from the locals to get to and is in a hidden away back alley behind a wooden door underneath a flickering light; no sign or nothing. Just a door. The interior is rough with everything looking like it was carved by someone that had one too many bottles years ago with everything looking to be nailed, screwed, bolted, and glued together after many a rough housing.

It is cramped, the food is questionable, the booze is at least good, everyone knows each other, the lighting sucks, the air is thick due to all the smoking, and there is at least one bar brawl every day because someone gets bored before turning around and socking another person in the jaw. The owner is either absent or passed out over a stool, table, or sometimes hanging from the chandelier so the loyal customers had learned how to operate everything.

Sometimes a new customer stumbles in to then get squinted at by the locals who turn back to their conversation/drinks with the newbie wandering around to find a stool or table that is open. They might stick around. They might not.

Well this just makes me want to quit the forums and set it on fire and then dump a lot of salt on the remines so that nothing can grow back.

So what you’re saying then is you’re a huge fan of Warhead Junction. Curious…

It’s hard to describe, but what comes to mind is Saint Mark’s Place. A street in Manhattan. It was a street filled with the beautiful outcasts. Those who listened to Heavy Metal and Techno. The ones who loved gothic fashion. They seemed scary covered in tattoos and silver piercings, but were the some of the nicest people one can meet.
Shops for black leather spike studded clothing, sparkling piercings, tattoo parlors and underground music line this block. There were basement dance clubs darker than your college Darkroom. There was one video game store that hilariously had it’s own publication, and a comic store in a 1/2 floor down where anywhere you looked was a comic.

Years have passed and it slowly was taken over by big business with brightly lit shops ranging from cheap Asian cuisine, smoke shops, to tourist gifts shops. The place is detestable and there is no reason to visit, but I still like to pass by with a friend to reminisce of the good times.

This place is the Post-Apocalpyse. Just a ruined, burnt landscape, with garbage lurking around every corner.

Once upon a time True Warriors came here from all corners of the world, to talk about strategy and battle. However, it is now, mostly, only inhabited by deviant wasteland scum. These days you’re more likely to get shanked for your Gold, while wandering these forums, than actually learning something about strategy.

I remember 2017 when I first posted here, especially on the old forums, the amount of bad takes that were being posted here were crazy that it played a massive role in giving the modern stigma of “just go to reddit”.

Pretending this place used to be filled with true warriors is just a coping.

Whoa! Ok so HOTS released in 2015. I didn’t start playing till like 2020. I always figured by the time i showed up here, things had died down, and all the competitive peeps moved on.

Are you telling me this place was a joke since day 1?

Depends on how you look at it, yes.
