I wonder if this idea for the ranking system will ring well with other fellow try hards like me that are tired of the current ranking system. Who knows, if this post gets a lot of attention it might reach the devs and they could implement something.
I would consider making the system rank people based off of their skill level of play and stats. Keep the “losing and winning points” the same if you lose or win, but maybe change it a bit. For example, if you lose, then you will lose points, but if you are the sole person on your team that is leading in 3 categories, like hero dmg, xp gain, and siege, then you won’t lose AS much. And if you win, leading in a lot of categories, then you will gain more rank points and so on.
And it goes the other way, if you are throwing and dying 5-10 times a game, then you lose even more rank points, especially if your team loses, which, it probably will if you’re throwing. But if you die a lot while trying, and your team still wins and your stats don’t reflect your level of play, then you gain rank points, but you won’t gain as much.
Now some of you will come in here and say that “Oh, this won’t work because people will just go in and stat pad”, this might be true but think about it, if a player just goes in the game and tries to get as many kills as possible, chances are, your team is going to win because of this. Or even siege, or even xp gain. It all connects.
So to shorten all of this, basically, gain more rank points if you lead in stat categories and win, lose less if you lead in stat categories and still lose as well.
This will make everyone on your team want to try hard because everyone will want to lead in stats, and if everyone wants to lead in stats, everyone on your team will be trying, and playing their role. Healer will want top healing, tank will want top team dmg soaked and so on.
