Hi. Recently I made the following thread about the frame drop issues:
However, it was a nice surprise that my issue got fixed the same day but I was testing several games and several configurations in order to be sure my frame drop issue was actually fixed.
All right, so, what is the solution?
Well, it was really simple, an user told me to uninstall the whole thing and I did it, both the game and the PTR and that was all. I installed the game again and it runs better than before.
If you have the same issues I had try the solution I wrote, you have my word it actually works.
I hope this works for everyone…
And also I feel bad for those who downloading the ~16GB (iirc) that HotS is takes days!
I am also happy to see this posted by someone who will clearly edit their post if their experience (sadly) changes. (and for their sake I hope it does not!)
grats. yes, reinstalling HotS is usually a good first step for any issue. the game is huge and doesn’t do a good job of cleaning up unnecessary things by itself.
Sami suggested this a while ago (along with an awful joke) that got his post hidden (hilarious) but it works. Problem is, new patch data doesn’t overwrite old patch data. It just writes on top of old data. Uninstalling and reinstalling will simply add the essentials without clogging up storage on outdated stuff.
