Looks balanced to me though.
Yeah, but she’s also incredibly… binary, I’d guess you’d say. I’ve only seen Ana’s who have had huge impacts, or none at all.
From that perspective, you can see why some people think it needs a rework.
Maybe because she is hard to play? At least it’s better than Medivh, where most are just subpar mages with no impact.
No I don’t see it, because I am fine with heroes being niche, because not everyone has to be a generalist.
There’s a difference between being niche (good at some things, bad at others), and scaling well with skill (being able to do something at low skill, but being rewarded with real payoffs as your skill increases).
The thing with Ana being niche isn’t an issue. However, everything she does is a skill shot, and her ults are heavily punishing if used even slightly wrong. While I personally like the fact that she’s a high skill-cap character (because it feels really good when you do it right), the fact that she doesn’t really have a “training wheels” build can turn some people off.
Also, Shrike could use a rethink.
I am fine with that, because not every hero should be easy. I mean look at Vikings… a hero you have to learn to deal with multi-tasking, because control all 3 ones together will perform poorly and it’s fine. On the contrary we have heroes like Li Li, who are fail-proofed.
Why people can’t accept that there are overall easy and hard heroes?
Ana is one of the lowest number heals in the game.
Put her against a high number healer like Lucio or stukov and she cant keep up
She doesn’t have a throughput issue, she has a skill issue.
Again, her healing is all skillshot based. The reason her numbers are low in low ranks and QM is because people miss their shots, or (worse) play her like a DPS.
I have her lvl 30 . She cant put up against a big numbers healer. Even with perfect shots.
If both teams are dedicated to heal big. Ana lacks behind.
You cant always do a double heal because thats not the flow of the battle
And yet somehow, I manage to put up solid numbers while solo healing.
Weird, right?
Oh no if only you had context
Though you’re correct that low skill players will perform disproportionately worse with Ana, it’s also incorrect to say she doesn’t have a throughput issue. Even with higher skilled players, Ana on average will have significantly lower healing compared to most other healers. That being said, heal output isn’t the only variable that determines her effectiveness.
As we know LiLi can put out decent numbers, but she’s also the lowest win rate hero at high level. Ana however also has low siege, low hero damage, too.
Because I’m a high MMR player whose Ana is one of my best heroes, I of course can outheal shoddy healers in QM. If I’m up against other skilled healers that know what they’re doing, it’s quite uncommon that your heals will be on top. She just isn’t built to have crazy healing unless your heals are constantly piercing which just isn’t really realistic.
It’s true AA shrike clashing with trying to stay at max range away from the enemy whilst landing your Qs and E is a bad design.
How about we incorporate the shrike damage and dot into her Q like how it is in over watch. Hit your teammate with q any they heal, hit your enemies and they take damage. It’s on you to decide whether to heal or damage in the moment.
Also can we bring back her grenade being able to boost the healing of your team mates? That was so fun and no other healer can do that.
