Holy Crap Lois, the Forced Win/Loss Thing is True?

Here’s a fancy idea: don’t blockquote whole posts.

As if this topic wasn’t contentious enough, Hail comes in to talk about YouTube and not Valeera.

It’s ok, I like you Hail, and no I am not watching all that either

Critical thinking has largely been erased from people’s minds due to the overwhelming social engineering they face from birth. It’s a mental survival instinct…people know how depressing it would be to face reality so they simply refuse to do it. Can’t blame them if they aren’t strong enough for reality.

I don’t know, for the past five or more years, it seems Blizzard really doesn’t want to make money from Hots, and often seem forced to admit Hots is still an IP that exists in their catalog.

About matchmaking, I’ve read the majority of replies here, and I can’t find anyone who called matchmaking in 2024 fair. Without a large enough active player population, the matchmaking has to cut corners to keep queue times low. I don’t think people dispute that MM in QM can often put teams against each other, who often have very different skill levels, leading to poor match quality.

Having said that, even if Hots had millions of active players, the MM algorithm could do with improvements, but that is all pie in the sky now. As someone who never climbed higher than Platinum, as spotty as the MM could/can be, I don’t feel I was “forced” or stuck in my rank, I simply hit my skill ceiling and that was pretty much that.

Sorry Minky, but HOTS had its chance. They had lot of people playing and chose to blame solo players instead of toxic teams. We get the result from that.

You didn’t hit your “skill ceiling”, you just were hit by past decisions to facilitate toxic teams against fair players. No fair 5-men team would play in ARAM in the first place. This is exploiting game mechanics.

Even in SL, they are just thriving on unfair premade mechanics. There is no ELO in HOTS since 2.0. There are just cheaters who exploit gameplay of HOTS.

We could have played in a fair match up with only 1v1 or 2v2 players like Starcraft II. And all this make up cheating would have fade away. If that mind came at the same time of 2.0, we, as many players, would have enjoyed and keep playing HOTS today.
