Heroes of the storm exe not downloading network error

Hello , i get a network error when trying to download heroes of the storm exe on google chrome , it reaches the middle and then network error although my internet is fine , i can download everything else ez including blizzard games
please help
even from the launcher of battle net when i try to download it , it gives me network error after fetching encoding table
i tried disable antivirus/lan settings/run as admin etc , none worked plz help

Hey hasouna,

Let’s try a full reinstall of the Blizzard app to see if there’s any change:

  1. Uninstall the Blizzard app

  2. Next open the temp locations and delete any Battlenet and Blizzard folders you see in each location. Press Windows Key + R and type:
    • %LOCALAPPDATA%
    • %APPDATA%
    • %TEMP%
    • %PROGRAMDATA%

  3. Finally go ahead and reinstall the app from here. Make sure you run as Admin.

that didnot work…
i can install hearthstone and other games fine on the blizzard launcher
also sometimes the battle.net app goes off then reconnects near the profile even though my connection is fine…

Can you try testing another network like a mobile hotspot? That would help narrow down the problem.

i fixed the problem
use vpn(Avira worked for me ) when you try to download it for like 5min , once you pass the fetching encoding table and reach the final download stage , you can remove the vpn and download it

I just got a new PC, attempted to install HoTS for the first time and got the “network error” despite my internet being fine and all other first time installs for the new computer going fine. Using Chrome, what eventually resolve the issue for me was to resume from the same little box in the bottom left that gave me the error in the first place. Basically, just keep telling the file to resume even after is gives the “network error” message. Had to do it 3-4 times, but it worked eventually. Also, I did not have battle.net launcher or any other Blizz related files at the time I did this.
