Healer Appreciation Thread

Probably the most thankless role in HotS is that of the healer. While every role is equally important to the success of the team, people will usually admire the assassin who gets the quad kill, while the clutch cleanse goes unnoticed. A bruiser who 2v5s the enemy team will have the starring role in a YouTube compilation video, while the healer desperately spamming buttons and running oom is virtually ignored.

I have been incredibly lucky the past few weeks to have run with people who are fantastic in the healing role, and I just wanted to give everyone who takes up the burden of sustaining their team the praise they justly deserve. Knowing someone is there and ready to support my every move when I am tanking means I can play far more aggressively, and can give my team the space they need to shine.

In thanks, I will always watch for those nasty Zeratuls who want to harm you, keep my tanky self between you and the aggressive bruiser who is fishing for that kill, and use my abilities wisely so you will always have mana, and can weave in some damage.

As Muradin would say, “Always thank your healer!”

Thanks Hoku. When I’m not on the slug I’m generally healing. <3 I appreciate you.

I do my best to keep everyone alive! Healing is tough at time but super rewarding to me.

But honestly, I’m always appreciating good tanks… So thanks to the good tank players out there! Thank you for keeping me safe and creating the space I need to do my business

That’s because like 80% of players who don’t main healers, don’t know how it works… and then there are the healer mains who don’t know either! (me before i watched a JHOW video)
lol

Glad I found this thread so warm and fuzzy in here! <3

I can’t show enough apreciation for Anduin since he saves me from my own stupidity.

Bless this boy.

Correction, Hoku.

Being the healer is the most thankless role everywhere.

There are no exceptions.

The exception being this thread!

I do my best to pull everyone through teamfights c :

Hots is easily my favorite game to heal in for some reason.

SHUT UP. PEW PEW.

Thankfully, I’m one of those healers who doesn’t care about peoples’ appreciation. Honestly, it’s the healers who expect praise are the ones you have to look out for. The ones who choose healer because they want to be depended on, creating this twisted codependent mentality.

You will take my appreciation and YOU WILL LIKE IT!

Actually it is not rare, for me at least, to see one of my teammates thanks the heal at the end of my games. And I mostly congratulate the healers and the tanks as there is mostly only one of them in my team. Hence it is easier to notice their impact while there is 3 assassins/bruiser mixing their skills to get a kill.

Getting thanked as a healer is a nice change, and oh so rare.

When the enemy Zeratul respects your role better than your own Assassin…

That’s my job to save people no matter what game I play (l4d2, using first aid kit, or tf2 as medic, or HotS).

Thank you Hoku. Such people, like you, make me think my job isn’t a waste of time.

“A thousand and one blessings upon you!”

it hurts to see my tank die when there is like 10 ruby pots all around him and he found the single route that dodges all of them, then mass pings me

It’s loud flick tells me to thank you!
Take this! My Love! My Sorrow! And ALL My GRAT’TUDE!”

Healers are simply the most oppressed group of all!

Don’t worry, you being alive and well, our team winning fights, and even sometimes you showing trust by trying increasingly reckless things when I’m with you is a reward in itself. It’s appreciated though, props to you and all the other members of the team

This sounds like what Ana would say in real life.
