[HC] Ysera, the Dreamer

Ysera is one of the dragon aspects, and specifically reigns over the ephemeral realm of the Dream. Granted her powers from the titans to watch over Azeroth, she has been a key player throughout the history of Warcraft. It would be wonderful to see each of the dragon aspects eventually make it into the game.

In HotS, Ysera is a restorative warrior who most prominently serves as a powerful main tank. She is a form changing character, but unlike other characters, her forms are locked behind health gates that she cannot go above once she falls below. Ysera has a variety of disruptive tools, but most prominently she incorporates Sleep into her kit, a given due to her background.

Universe: Warcraft
Role: Tank

Summon Mount / Emerald Wings
Z (Mount) – Passive
Increases movement speed by 30% while mounted.

(Dragon) While in dragon form, this is replaced with Emerald Wings, which serves as a normal mount but has a flying animation. Ysera is able to move over impassable terrain while mounted.

Explanation: Ysera doesn’t need a normal mount for most of her time, but if she enters into her dragon form, she needs a way to transport herself across the map. I decided taking flight would be the best idea for mobility is she becomes stuck as a Dragon.

Ysera’s Gift
Trait (Passive)
Ysera starts every life within the Dream, which grants her 15% increased movement speed and her cooldowns refresh 50% faster. Once she reaches 80% health, she exits the Dream, becoming unable to go above 80% health until she dies. Every 4 seconds while outside the dream, Ysera is healed for 5% of her maximum health. Once she reaches 30% health, she becomes a dragon, becoming unable to go above 30% health and stopping her healing from Ysera’s Gift. Instead, every 7 seconds, the next ability that hits her will deal no damage and grant her Spellward for 1 second.

Explanation: This concept spawned from the idea of making a new transformation character that has their forms gated behind health amounts, and I also wanted to make them into a high regen character. Since Deathwing best fits as a bruiser, Alexstrasza is a Healer, Nozdormu is a Support, and Malygos will be a ranged assassin, I thought it would be cool to try and make a tank Ysera.

Emerald Claws
Q (10 sec Cooldown)
Ysera conjures an ephemeral dragon claw that fires forth in a target 7 unit line quickly, dealing 140 (+4% per level) damage to the first enemy hero hit, and damaging all minion along the way. Enemies hit have their Spell Armor reduced by 10 for 3 seconds. 1 second after the initial cast, a second claw is shot along the same line, mirroring the first cast.

Explanation: Emerald Claws is Ysera’s core damage ability, and offers her a currently non existent spell armor shred to add to her utility.

Dreamfire
W (10 sec Cooldown)
(Dream) Ysera creates a dream ward with a 3 radius area at a location within 8 range, which charges over 2 seconds. After charging, it will remain active for 4 seconds, detonating when the first enemy enters the area, dealing 160 (+4% per level) damage and putting them to Sleep for 2.5 seconds.

(Human) Ysera blankets a wide 6 unit long line in dreamfire after a .5 second delay, dealing 200 (+4% per level) damage and applying Dreamfire to all enemies hit. After 1 second, enemies affected are put to Sleep for 2.5 seconds.

(Dragon) Ysera targets a 4 unit long, 120 degree cone and exhales dreamfire in the cone over 1.5 seconds, dealing 30 (+4% per level) damage every .25 seconds and applying Dreamfire to them. If the enemy reaches 4 stacks of Dreamfire, they are put to Sleep for 2.5 seconds. Damage from Dreamfire will not break Sleep, and enemies already applied with Sleep do not gain Dreamfire stacks.

Explanation: Dreamfire changes its benefit based on her current form, with each affect benefitting her form. While a dream, her Dreamfires act as short duration wards that she can throw out onto the battlefield as needed; human is a more natural, fast damaging skillshot, and her Dragon form is a large but short ranged cone that can deal large damage and put a number of enemies to Sleep.

Ancient Blossom
E (12 sec Cooldown)
Ysera conjures a blossom at a target area within 6 units that heals all allied heroes in a 3 unit radius area for 35 (+4% per level) health every .5 seconds for 4 seconds. While at least one allied hero is being healed, Ysera gains 15 Armor.

Explanation: Ancient Blossom provides Ysera with some more powerful healing and sustain, and gives her some team utility. Ancient Blossom helps her allies hold down an area, which is amplified tenfold with talents.

Emerald Dreamway
Heroic #1 (100 sec Cooldown)
Ysera creates a 7 unit radius area around her which lasts for 4 seconds while selecting a target location within a 25 unit range, slowing enemies and allies inside by 25%. After the 4 seconds, all enemies and allies in the area are transported to the new area. This heals allies transported by 200 (+4% per level).

Explanation: Emerald Dreamway is a multi-purpose ability. It can transport allies into the fray with skilled planning, it can force enemies that stay too long to go to a vulnerable position, and can simply be used as a disruption and then team-wide heal midway into a teamfight.

Lucid Flight
Heroic #2 (40 sec Cooldown)
(Dream) Ysera blinks 4 unit to a new location, putting any enemies at the end location to Sleep for 3 seconds.

(Human) Ysera dashes in a 7 unit long line, putting an enemy hit to Sleep for 3 seconds.

(Dragon) Ysera hesitates for 1 second before flying into the sky. She can target a new area within 55 units to land, putting all enemies in a 5 unit radius around her landing point to Sleep for 3 seconds.

Explanation: To keep with the theme of mobility, Lucid Flight gives Ysera more of a way to apply Sleep to enemies, and its effects compliment her form. Each new form becomes slower to use, but gains more range, finally giving her a semi-global engage when she is in her dragon form.

Really awesome Blizztron as usual!!

Especially her trait, i had an idea that is the same like yours in her trait, mines is inspired by that Smite’s Cul culann trait (sorry, i know wrong spelling ), that just like him, ysera will transform into a dragon by reaching a certain amount of mana or health, but apart from that i had difficulty of creating her kit and role as a whole, that will not be too similar to alex…
