[HC] Lady Vashj - Coilfang Matron, Naga Sea Witch

This version of Lady Vashj depicts her as a Ranged Assassin. She does a bit of everything; She has good survivability thanks to her trait, she can be considered an AA hero, and she does have an option to be a powerful combo mage.

The base concept is very simple and not complicated, but all of her abilities turned out to work well together. Sometimes I find that a concept shouldn’t be all that twisted to be fun. Some of her iconic abilities when viewed alone might seem boring, but as said they do make a nice addition to the overall kit such as Forked Lightning; this ability is so simple, yet it’s part of a nice combo and when talented, it has some nice synergies with the rest of the kit, so be sure to judge the overall concept after reading its talents, enjoy!

25% of incoming damage is taken first from Lady Vashj’s Mana then Health.

It can be toggled on and off.

Neither a shield, nor an armor. Mana Shield falls somewhere in-between.

[Q] Frostfathom: Frost Arrows:
Cooldown: N/A
Mana Cost: N/A

Lady Vashj’s Basic Attacks apply Frost to its targets, Slowing their Attack and Movement Speed by 5% for 2 seconds. Frost stacks up to 5 times and its duration refreshes with each application.

After Basic Attacking an enemy Hero with full Frost stacks 5 times, Frost Arrows can be activated to shoot an arrow that Roots the first enemy hit for 1 second, dealing 175 (4% per level) damage. Can only store 1 Charge.

  • One of her iconic abilities from Warcraft 3.
  • Frost Arrows Active ability doesn’t have a cooldown nor a mana cost.
  • Recharging Frost Arrows’ Active ability requires Basic Attacking a Hero with full stacks five times, regardless if dealt continuously or to same target.
  • Attacking an enemy 10 times takes about 6 seconds to fully recharge Frost Arrow. If the dual continues, its takes around 3 seconds when attacking an enemy with already full stacks. Balancing this can be done by changing amount of times Lady Vashj needs to attack.
  • Quick Comparison: Uther can lower his E cooldown to 3 seconds by Basic Attacking an enemy Hero when taking the level 1 quest.
  • Talents that increase AA speed and make AA hit more than one Hero help in faster recharging Frost Arrows.

[W] Forked Lightning:
Cooldown: 10 seconds
Mana Cost: 75

Call forth a cone of lightning that deals 150 (4% per level) damage to all enemies hit.

  • Another iconic ability from both Warcraft 3 and her WoW boss fight.
  • Cone degree: around 90°, Range: 6. The angle starts a bit behind her so that she has more room to hit enemies in melee range.

[E] Call of the Tides:
Cooldown: 15 seconds
Mana Cost: 90

Conjure three tidal waves that rush toward Lady Vashj after 1 second, pulling through all enemies in their path and each dealing 75 (4% per level) damage.

  • Now we can’t have a Naga Sea Witch concept without a Sea-based ability in it, can we?
  • All three waves together make a shape of a half hexagon or half circle with a radius of 3.
  • After a delay time of 1 second, all three waves meet in the center of the circle or hexagon radius and then start washing toward Lady Vashj. Their damage overlap after meeting together in the center.
  • During the delay time, Lady Vashj can change her position, manipulating Tidal Waves direction.
  • Range 9, Starting Area of effect radius: 2.5 - 3, Width after washing toward Lady Vashj: 3 - 5, Speed: 17, Last two can be compared with Orphea’s Dread.

[R1] Tornado:
Cooldown: 60 seconds
Mana Cost: 60

After 1 second, conjure a Tornado at the target location. Whenever an enemy gets in touch with it, they take 125 (4% per level) damage and get pulled back to its center if they are inside its radius of 3, or pushed back if they are outside its radius. Tornado lasts 4 seconds and can be moved at 50% of base Movement Speed.

[R2] Mana Battery:
Cooldown: 120 seconds
Mana Cost: 60

Conjure 3 Shield Generators around Lady Vashj in a triangle shape that each connects to her with a Lightning Beam after 1 second. Each Lightning Beam restores 0.5% of Lady Vashj’s maximum Mana and deals 45 (4% per level) damage to all enemies every 0.25 seconds. Additionally, each Lightning Beam connected to Lady Vashj causes Mana Shield to mitigate additional 25% of incoming damage.

Shield Generators last 4 seconds and each has 300 (4% per level) Health.

Very powerful Heroic that is inspired by her WoW boss fight. The damage of Lightning can be high, but easily avoided by just moving out of the beam. Lady Vashj on the other hand has to use her passive movement speed, slows and roots and maneuver around her targets to get the best of its damage. Better comboed with ETC Mosh Pit for potential max damage. Shield Battery can also be used as a survival tool, replenishing your mana and making Mana Shield be more effective for a short period of time.

Shield Generators have relatively small Health and can be easily destroyed before making Lady Vashj take full use of them. They can be even damaged before connecting to Lady Vashj within the 1 second activation time

[Z] Mount: Slither:
Cooldown: 30 seconds

Activate to dash a short distance forward, sliding alongside obstacles or unites in her way.

Passive: Lady Vashj has a permanent 10% increased Movement Speed by slithering through terrain.


TALENTS:

TIER 1/ LEVEL 1

[Q] Frostfathom: Enchanted Arrows:
Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes restore 5 Mana and deal 5 (4% per level) additional Spell Damage for each Frost stack they have. Both bonuses are increased by 100% against Rooted targets.

[Trait] Pearl of the Tides:
Repeatable Quest: Collecting a Regeneration Globe permanently increases Lady Vashj’s maximum Mana by 10.
Repeatable Reward: After collecting 10 Regeneration Globes, gain 5% permanent Spell Power and reduce Mana costs of all abilities by 10.

[Trait] Mana Leech:
Lady Vashj leeches 10% of her damage as Mana over 5 seconds. While restoring Mana over time, Lady Vashj deals 10% increased Damage.

TIER 2/ LEVEL 4:

[Q] Frostfathom: Windfury Arrows:
Basic Attacking enemy Heroes grants Lady Vashj 5% increased Attack Speed for each Frost stack they have. This bonus lasts 2 seconds and is increased by 100% against Rooted targets.

Only the strongest Attack Speed bonus is applied at once.

[W] Static Recharge:
Each enemy Hero hit by Forked Lightning restores 25 Mana and reduces its cooldown by 1.5 seconds.

[Trait] Mind over Matter:
Mitigated damage through Mana Shield is dealt over 5 seconds to Mana first then Health. During this time, Lady Vashj has 200% increased Mana Regeneration and 25% increased cooldown recharge rate.

TIER 3/LEVEL 7:

[Q/E] Frozen Tides:
Rooting an enemy Hero while being affected by Call of the Tides causes all Tidal Waves to freeze, Rooting all enemies caught within for 1 second and applying maximum Frost stacks to them.

[W/E] Electrocute:
Hitting an enemy Hero affected by Call of the Tides with Forked Lightning causes them to lose 25 Armor for 3 seconds.

[E/Trait] High Tide:
Whenever Mana Shield mitigates damage, increase the next Call of the Tides damage by 5%, up to 100%.

TIER 4/LEVEL 10:

[Q] Frostfathom: Split Arrows:
Basic Attacks also target other nearby enemies that have maximum Frost stacks. Each enemy Hero hit with one Basic Attack increases the damage of the next Basic Attack by 5%.

[E] Rejuvenating Tide:
Lady Vashj restores 5% of her maximum Mana and Health over 5 seconds for each enemy Hero hit by Call of the Tides.

[Trait] Serpent Scale:
While below 25% of maximum Mana, Lady Vashj gains 10 Armor, reducing damage taken by 10%.
While below 25% of maximum Health, restoring Mana also grant 100% of amount restored as permanent Shield.

[Z] Naga’s Rush:
Whenever Lady Vashj damages an enemy, reduce Slither cooldown by 1 second. After casting Slither, your next Basic Ability and Basic Attack deal 20% more damage.

TIER 6/LEVEL 16:

[Q] Frostfathom: Shattering Arrows:
Basic Attacks deal an additional 0.5% of the target’s maximum Health as damage for each Frost stack they have. This damage is increased by 100% against Rooted targets.

[W/E] Conductivity:
Each enemy Hero hit with Forked Lightning while being affected by Call of the Tides releases electrical charges at nearby enemies within 2 radius, dealing 75 (4% per level) damage to them.

[Active] Tides of Death:
Activate to spend all current Mana and regain the amount lost over 5 seconds. After 1 second of activation, two tidal waves spin around Lady Vashj, each dealing 100% of amount Mana spent as damage to enemies hit. Cooldown: 10 seconds, Radius: 5

TIER 7/ LEVEL 20:

[R1] Naga Sea Witch:
Tornado is now Global and it deals its damage to all enemies inside its radius every 1 second.

[R2] Mana Overflow:
Each Lightning Beam connected to Lady Vashj grants her 10% increased Spell Power and now restores 100% more Mana.

[Active] Bubble Shield:
Activate to gain a Shield that equals 100% of maximum Mana for 4 seconds. Cooldown: 60 seconds.
Passive: Shields now also protect Lady Vashj’s Mana.

[Z] Lightfathom:
Lady Vashj also equips herself with Lightfathom. Casting Slither causes Lady Vashj to slice all enemies in her way, dealing 125 (4% per level) damage and Shocking them for 1.5 seconds. Hitting a Shocked enemy with Forked Lightning causes it to chain one additional time to the nearest enemy.
