She needs a rework. Her current state is boring to play as and frustrating to play with or against, and it completely fails to capture the fantasy of a Siege Tank.

She needs less durability and self-peel.
She needs more range.
She needs to rely on her allies to grant extra vision.
She needs higher DPS in Tank Mode than in Siege Mode.
She needs more splash damage and area in Siege Mode.
She needs OBFG replaced with something more interactive.

Those are the major things I think she needs changed.

But HotS is a MOBA, you can’t introduce a siege tank hero without including some tweaks to make her fit with the game genre. If she is given points 2 and 3, she’ll be even less interactive and less APM since she just waits for allies to open up opportunities.

now that we have deathwing, there’s no excuse for not making sgt hammer a life size human in a huge tank with perma unstoppable.

They should buff her level 7 talents

Sugestions:

Siege tank: additional functionality added - pvp dmg reduced by 25%, pve dmg increased by 30%. Moreover, splash deals 40% of dmg instead of 25%

OBFG: changed functionality - Blunt Force Gun deals additional 30% of dmg. BFG can be reactive to explode and deal 75% of it’s dmg in 3 meter radius, pushing away any nearby hostile and reducing their armor by 15 for 3 sec. If enemy hero die within 3 second after being hit by BFG, decrease reuse time of BFG by 15 seconds and heal hammer for 15% of her max HP over 3 seconds.

Every AA towards same target outside siege mode increase Hammer AA dmg by 4% up to 40%. Stacks are lost when other target is attacked or when Hammer changes modes.

Neosteel plating - changed effectivness - grants only 20 armor but for 2,5 sec. When in siege tank mode amount is increased by 75%.

Health amount should be reduced from 1720 to 1700 (Gul’Dan and Alexstrasza hp level)

I think most of my suggestions are similar to Maximus but yea - I strongly agree with them.

Actually to play against hammer is fun, because you know how to position yourself, how to initiate and it’s different and that’s challenging. But it’s hard to achieve and especially in low elo most hammers are not good enough, so it’s frustrating.

No, nothing is fun in here, when you play against protect the hammer comp.

Tweaks here and there and that rocket ult maybe but not a complete overhaul.

Tweaks would not fix Hammer.

Her playstyle is fundamentally broken (on a design level, not a balance level). Numbers changes here and there will not be sufficient. She needs a rework.

Fun is a perspective thing though, I can handle and enjoy playing with or as a hammer.

If I’m a minority in this then sure, I can figure. But still not a fan of a overhaul idea.

Define in what way she is broken?

To much push? To strong in a certain comp? Outright useless? Please give me some details on this.

I only mind playing against hammer if my team is too passive. Otherwise, I find her fine. I don’t know why it’s so painful to want to protect a teammate that is helping you win, but maybe that’s the healer in me.

I love Hammer, but her kit design is just problematic in a moba. Having to self-root is a huge disadvantage, but you can’t really buff the survival anymore because the increased range+damage can be unbearable. It’s so hard to think about what to do for her because it’s so easy to make her overpowered. My default suggestion would be to move power away from siege mode into more tank mode, but that’s her whole identity. Maybe something like instead of having siege mode be a toggled stance, it’s an activate to buff just next attack?
