I suggest changing the “Path of the Shimada” from level 13 to level 1 in place of the pathfinder and removing or decreasing the damage bonus, and in level 1 talent “swift as the wind” I suggest adding 2 range along with the movespeed bonus to compete with Shimada. And on the 13th return with the old talent of double D (trait).
Hanzo rework too, please. I think the character is cool as hell but, he’s trash. Unfortunately. At least give him ‘average’ stamina. If you spit on Hanzo, he dies. Makes even attempting his AA-build a futile effort. Even if you’re never alone and always with your crew? As soon as the other guys sees Hanzo nearby, they just throw all their stuff at him and Hanzo is a stain on the ground afterwards.
AA damage increase 44-46
Shuriken damage increase 65->68
Swift Strike damage increase 190->210
Deflect duration increase 1.25->1.5
Level 1:
Pathfinder - Removed.
New Talent, Kaze Yo: After hitting an enemy hero with a basic attack, movement speed is increased by 20% for 1 second, this bonus does not stack.
Level 4:
Shuriken mastery: after hitting heroes with shurikens 35 times increase shuriken damage by 20%. After hitting heroes 75 times Shuriken max charge goes up by 1.
Strike at the heart: enemies hit by the end of swift strike take and additional 145 damage.
Level 7:
Cyber shield: Being stunned or rooted causes Genji to cast an untalented deflect. This effect cannot occur more than once every 40 seconds.
Dodge: Reworked, Hitting at least one enemy with swift strike grants a charge, up to a maximum of 3.
Level 10:
No changes
13:
No changes.
This is the best balanced talent tier IMO.
16:
Steady blade: Changed functionality. Hitting an enemy with swift strike increases Genji’s Damage by 10% for 3 seconds. This effect does not stack.
20
Removed Sharpened stars.
New talent, A dragon’s heart: Deflect now grants unstoppable for the duration. Increase Deflect’s cooldown by 4 seconds.
As long as my math is correct, these changes should result in a net increase of about 7-12% potential damage for most builds. It has options for high CC enemy teams that come at pretty substantial costs in terms of power at that tier. Honestly this may even be too much, but I know that moving his +1 AA range+ even 1 damage to level 1 would be a mistake, as it would become a must pick.
To be honest i think he needs more than just that:
Reworking the only hero who has 3 working builds and 0 useless talents, while also being a very strong Burst Mage who can deal absurd damage from a long distance?
Any buffs at this point would be welcomed.
That’s how it should be though, because it’s unhealthy having heavy long-range damage and being well-sustained. Cassia or Fenix are the opposite they have better sustain than Hanzo, but they are midrange fighter, because midrange puts you in more risk to get catched than long-range.
Another example could be Tracer, she also dies, when you spit on her, she also is a midrange-fighter, but she has hyper-mobility to trade her weakness. Hanzo has his long-range.
“Absurd damage” …you don’t play Hanzo do you?
His moves are all tough to land and when you do? The dmg is poop. Hanzo can only do his own thing also. He can’t carry a team or pick up the slack in the least. And being able to carry your team if need be, is absolutely crucial to success in this game.
His so-called “long-range” doesn’t mean jack, when you consider that his moves are all tough to land and don’t do dmg for jack when they do hit. I think the character is cool as hell but, i’ve had so many matches where i’ve quested out stormbow and i’m landing everything i can. Worthless, the enemy team is just shrugging it all off and plowing forward.
And if attempt to get close(er) for a second to throw some AA-attacks in the mix too, to help out? DEAD.
Hanzo is literally an insanely nerfed version of Azmodan, with NONE of Azmo’s strengths. Only WEAKNESSES. ugghhh.
Looks like l2p issue here. Yes Hanzo is harder to play than Azmodan.
What? You don’t draft Hanzo for the same reason as Azmodan… Hanzo sees more play in higher leagues than Azmo that already should be proof enough to show that you’re wrong.
You disagree yet have not even attempted to refute any of the points i made. Okayyyy…
And Higher-League? Oh yes, please feel free to submit all the pro-tourney vids with a Hanzo doing well. And in doing so you fail to realize it’s a Hanzo doing well…with OTHER pretty GOOD players. Players that can hold their own, don’t need to be carried, don’t do stupid things, etc.
Put that hanzo in a more “Real-world” setting like quick-Match. Where you have no control who you get matched with. See how hot that Hanzo still is.
The mark of a truely GOOD character in this game: Is one who can not only be great doing his/her own thing but, can also pick up the slack if they get matched with a team of chumps. What good is a character if they have Zero carrying capacity? None. They’re domed to be utterly dependent on their team mates also being really good.
With Azmodan? You can stick me with a team of frakin’ LOSERS. If i play my cards right and back them up effectively? I can turn trash into GOLD and win the match and, have done so many times. The same cannot be said for poor Hanzo. He’s stuck watching his team-mates get floored.
Nice attempt at changing the subject, because you have no argument. I only bring up Azmo as an example of a ranged character done RIGHT.
And it’s not just that Hanzo’s moves are harder to land but, his damage output is frackin’ SAD on top of all that. So much effort for so little.
Did you mean to put 150% more damage on the new final cut, or did you mean “deals 150% damage”? Because 150% more damage would make it a must pick, and not even tanks would survive his burst combo without pre-emptively activating armor/stasis at 24%
I play him most of the time and he can deal a BIG damage to solo targets.
Guess YOU never played Hanzo then. He’s one of the few heroes who can actually carry the entire game if used in right hands.
Guess i should change that stuff to deal 50% more damage instead.
If you’re such a “beast” with him? Feel free to impart all your knowledge here then. Best talents to use, tactics, tricks, strategy, what to look out for, which build to go for, is AA-build worth attempting, etc.
I think the character is cool as hell but, after 84 matches in? Nope. He’s trash. And can’t carry a team, no matter how many arrows you’re landing.
genji is kinda like medivh since he’s absolute garbage for 99% of the playerbase but borderline busted with the right comp in gm. So straight buffs would destroy the high end of the ladder.
scattering arrow (W) build is very hard to master but by miles the strongest build for almost every map. It has very safe poke and can deal 50% health of a squishy if aimed correctly. Its hard to master but he can absolutely carry the game in the hands of a great player.
He is just a REALLY high mechanic demanding hero. One tiny mistake and you’re out. He is kinda like Genji, you need to perfectly play him to be effective.
Some heroes require you to play 5 games to learn, some 30, some 100, some 500. Hanzo is just that hard, specially since his best build is WQW or WWW.
Nice joke attempt.
This is the moment when QM players show up in forum and scream for a nerf on the particular heroe.
Landing good scatter arrows that erases heroes from the game, is zero carrying capacity?
Landing a long range arrow that can Stun a whole team for 3 seconds is zero carrying capacity?
Looks more like Yusuke is right by calling this a l2p issue, tough I would agree, that he maybe could need a small buff.
Just because you learned how to ride a skateboard doesn’t mean you can surf on a surfboard, though it’s both just a board.
If a character can only flourish in the pro-leagues and no where else? That doesn’t mean that character is great. Quite the opposite actually. It means they kinda suk. And NEED the other team to be just as good, if not better, in order to succeed.
A truely GOOD character is one you can stick with any team of losers, and have them still come out on top. Characters that can carry and pick up the slack for the entire team, if need be. Hanzo? That is not.
Scatter arrows are TRASH. And do no damage. And dragon’s arrow will only stun enemies for that long if you literally fire it from one end of the map, to another. Otherwise it just does a pitiful 0.5 seconds i think.
Just like smile, i challenge you and everyone else who thinks their Hanzo is Beast---- Tell me all your best Hanzo strategies, talents, tricks, etc. I’m listening.
I like the character and wanted to get good with him but, 80+ matches in? No sir. He just suks.
We did, remember?
Tbh it didn’t feel like you wanted to learn anything but just rip on the hero instead.
I can only imagine a bronze player with the mechanics of Azmodan and Sgt. Hammer, trying out Hanzo, then complains that the hero can’t carry.
Dunning-Kruger effect much?
